Job summary

dsm-firmenich is seeking an Associate Manager – SHE&S in Vadodara, India. The role focuses on providing HSE leadership, implementing safety initiatives, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and global standards.

The position includes leading training, investigations, and continuous improvement across the production floor. Qualified candidates bring 10–13 years of progressive HSE experience, a chemical or mechanical engineering degree, and a Diploma in Industrial Safety.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated HSE leadership across a site and drive improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of local HSE regulations and global guidelines (OSHA/ANSI/NFPA).
• Experience in leading risk assessment and MOC programs.

Job Title – Associate Manager – SHE&S

Your key responsibilities:

• While providing HSE leadership to the site, identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness and improve safe work practices, ensuring 100% compliance to local regulatory and Firmenich Corporate HSE requirements.
• Take ownership of site HSE leading and lagging indicators and implement strategic initiatives to improve the indicators.
• Ensure key HSE initiatives as determined by Global are prioritized and implemented at the site to enhance the site HSE culture being best in class, coordinate site employee safety programs and review site short term and long term strategies.
• Conduct / coordinate worker and contract worker training in area’s such as HSE regulations, hazardous condition monitoring and pursue use of safety equipment along with Do’s and Don’t’s for GSP (good safety practices)
• Lead risk assessment program of key existing operations and new projects, management of process safety program and management of change program
• Investigate (participate in investigation) industrial incidents, near misses and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures and manage return to work activity.

You bring.

• Minimum 10-13 years of progressive field HSE experience with minimum 5 years’ experience of production floor in a reputed company committed to safety. Additional Safety certifications will be an added advantage.
• Degree in Chemical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering and Diploma in Industrial Safety.
• Through knowledge of applicable local HSE regulations and Global guidelines like OSHA, ANSI, NFPA etc.
• Team player, ability to work in matrix Environment and be able to communicate with employees at all levels
• Ability to build trust and confidence with management, with consultation and persuasive skills
• Strategic thinking and leadership skills with proven examples of the same.

Note:

We believe in building strong operational and business understanding from day one. Accordingly, the successful candidate will undertake a structured 4-month immersion program at our Daman Manufacturing Facility. Company-provided accommodation will be available throughout the training period. Upon completion, the employee will transition to Vadodara, which will be the designated permanent work location.
