Job summary

NEWTON SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY is seeking a dedicated SDE + Associate Instructor to coach students in Data Structures, Algorithms, and Competitive Programming. This full-time onsite role is based at Bengaluru, Sonipat, or Pune campuses, where you will guide learners from fundamentals to contest-level problem solving.

You will join a high-caliber team led by ICPC finalists, delivering lectures, live coding, and mentoring across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.
• At least 2+ years of competitive programming participation across platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving ability and ability to explain ideas clearly.
• Proficiency in C++, Java, or Python.
• Passion for teaching and mentoring students.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures on Data Structures & Algorithms and Competitive Programming.
• Conduct live coding sessions, contest discussions, editorial walkthroughs, and debugging sessions.
• Mentor students for Codeforces, AtCoder, CodeChef, ICPC, hackathons, and other programming contests.
• Conduct doubt sessions, code reviews, mock contests, and one-on-one mentoring.
• Design assignments, contests, practice sheets, and evaluation rubrics.
• Track student progress and help students improve their problem-solving approach.
• Coordinate with colleges and university partners to organize coding contests, competitive programming events, and student engagement initiatives.
• Support the planning and execution of coding camps, bootcamps, and workshops, including lecture design, problem selection, and curriculum preparation.
• Collaborate with external speakers, industry experts, and guest mentors to organize technical talks, discussion sessions, and guest lectures.
• Assist in planning hackathons, programming contests, and community events to foster a strong competitive programming culture across campuses.

About the Role

We are looking for a DSA & Competitive Programming Instructor (SDE + Associate Instructor) who lives and breathes problem-solving. This is a full-time, onsite role not part-time and not online based at one of our Bengaluru, Sonipat, or Pune campuses. You will spend your days coaching students to think like competitive programmers and build like software engineers. If you are equally passionate about cracking hard algorithmic problems and helping others learn to do the same, this role is for you.

You will join an elite team of problem-solvers and work directly alongside Deepak Kumar Gour and Ashwin Krishnamoorthy, both ICPC World Finalists, learning from some of the sharpest competitive programming and engineering minds in the country. Together, you will set the standard for how DSA and competitive programming are taught in India.

What Youll Do

Must Have

• Strong foundation in data structures & algorithms.
• 2+ years of continuous participation in competitive programming across platforms such as Codeforces, AtCoder, and CodeChef.
• Excellent problem-solving ability with the ability to explain complex ideas simply.
• Strong programming skills in C++, Java, or Python.
• Passion for teaching and mentoring students.

Good to Have

• 0-2 years of teaching experience is a plus.
• Mentoring students through competitive programming clubs, ICPC teams, or coding communities counts.
• Experience organizing contests, workshops, or coding events.
• Participation in ICPC or other national/international programming contests.
