Job summary

OSTTRA is seeking a Java Developer to join our Gurgaon, India technology team. You will design, develop, and maintain high-throughput microservices using Java 21 and Spring Boot, and build enterprise integration solutions with Apache Camel.

The role emphasizes cloud-native deployment on AWS, Kubernetes, and OpenShift, distributed caching with Hazelcast and Elasticsearch, and close collaboration with QA, DevOps, and Product Management to deliver a resilient market infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java 21 and modern language features.
• Experience with Spring Boot and Enterprise Integration Patterns (Apache Camel).
• Knowledge of distributed caches (Hazelcast) and search (Elasticsearch).
• Experience with cloud-native deployment (AWS, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Strong REST/JSON/XML data handling and databases.
• Understanding of CI/CD and clean-code practices.

About the Role:

The team:

The OSTTRA Technology team is composed of Capital Markets Technology professionals who build, support, and protect the applications that operate our network. The technology landscape includes high-performance, high-volume applications as well as compute-intensive applications, leveraging contemporary microservices, distributed caching, and cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities and impact:

We are looking for a passionate Java Developer with 2–4 years of experience, strong proficiency in modern Java (Java 21), and hands‑on experience in cloud-native microservices and integration patterns. The ideal candidate will have sharp troubleshooting capabilities, experience with distributed data stores, and an enthusiasm for leveraging AI technologies to boost engineering productivity and application capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-throughput microservices using Java 21 and Spring Boot.
• Build enterprise integration solutions and message routing workflows using Apache Camel.
• Optimize system performance and data retrieval using Hazelcast for distributed caching and Elasticsearch for search and analytics.
• Containerize, deploy, and support applications on AWS, Kubernetes, and OpenShift environments.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production and non-production issues in distributed architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and Product Management to deliver resilient market infrastructure.
• Explore and integrate AI-assisted development practices and tools to continuously improve code quality and team efficiency.

What we’re looking for:

Core Technical Skills:

• Java Expertise: Strong hands‑on experience with Java 21 (virtual threads, modern language features) and core computer science fundamentals (OOP, data structures, multithreading).
• Frameworks & Integration: Proven experience with Spring Boot and Enterprise Integration Patterns using Apache Camel.
• Caching & Search: Working experience with distributed data grids like Hazelcast and search engines like Elasticsearch.
• Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift for container management and deployment.
• APIs & Data: Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and relational/non- relational databases.
• Quality & Best Practices: Solid grasp of clean code, design patterns, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.

AI & Added Advantages (Nice-to-Have):

• AI Integration & Tools: Experience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) or frameworks (e.g., Spring AI, LangChain4j) to streamline development.
• GenAI / LLM Exposure: Basic understanding of integrating LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) into software solutions.
• Frontend: Exposure to React or Angular UI frameworks.
