What Does the Internship Program Offer?

This six-month internship provides hands‑on experience in HR Operations, with exposure to employee onboarding, engagement, HR data management, benefits‑related initiatives, and cross‑functional coordination.

With guidance from experienced HR professionals, interns will develop practical skills in communication, stakeholder coordination, time management, and HR operations while gaining valuable insight into the employee lifecycle within a global organization.

Job Description

Pearson is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate, HR Operations Intern to join the Country Care HR team in Bangalore. The Country Care HR team sits within HR Operations and supports operational excellence, compliance, and the delivery of locally relevant HR services and solutions.

Reporting to the Country Care SAARC Lead, the intern will support the HR Country Care team across a range of operational and employee‑focused activities. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in HR Operations, employee onboarding, employee engagement, HR data management, benefits‑related initiatives, and cross‑functional coordination.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, effective time management, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in delivering a positive employee experience. The intern will work closely with HR stakeholders and gain exposure to the operational processes that support employees throughout their employee lifecycle.

What does the 6-months duration involve?

During the six-month internship, you will gain hands‑on experience in HR Operations while supporting initiatives that enhance employee experience and contribute to operational excellence and compliance.

Key areas of involvement may include:

  • Supporting employee onboarding activities and helping to deliver a smooth and positive onboarding experience.

  • Assisting with employee engagement initiatives and programs.

  • Supporting the maintenance, organization, and accuracy of HR data and employee records.

  • Assisting with benefits‑related initiatives and employee support activities.

  • Supporting interview coordination and other recruitment‑related administrative activities, as needed.

  • Collaborating with HR team members and cross‑functional stakeholders to support the effective delivery of HR services.

  • Assisting with the coordination and administration of HR processes and operational activities.

  • Supporting the preparation, tracking, and management of HR‑related information and documentation.

  • Developing an understanding of HR Operations, employee experience design, and data‑driven HR insights.

  • Building practical skills in communication, stakeholder coordination, time management, organization, and project support.

  • Throughout the internship, you will receive guidance and support from experienced HR professionals while gaining valuable exposure to HR processes, employee lifecycle activities, and the operational practices that support Pearson’s purpose: Add Life to a Lifetime of Learning.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree, with a strong interest in Human Resources and HR Operations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively, take initiative, and identify actions required with minimal supervision.

  • Strong attention to detail, with effective follow‑up and coordination skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and ensure the timely completion of deliverables.

  • Willingness and ability to work from the office at least three days per week.
