Job summary

Roots Group in Coimbatore is seeking a mechanical design engineer to join our team. Design new products and components using SolidWorks, develop 3D models, and prepare production-ready drawings for manufacturing.

You will manage engineering changes, develop prototypes, verify functionality, and maintain comprehensive project documentation while coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing mechanical components with SolidWorks and creating production drawings.
• Ability to manage cross-functional coordination and drive engineering changes.
• Familiarity with fabrication processes and hydraulic systems is preferred.

The ideal candidate will combine strong mechanical design skills with practical knowledge of hydraulics, structural fabrication, and material handling systems to deliver robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective designs.

Job Description

Design new products or components using Solidworks software as per market standards

Strong proficiency in Creating concept design of New Products, 3D Modeling and review

Creating part and assembly drawings, Verification, review and release for production.

Engineering change management and document update

Proto development including inspection fitment and functional verification

Performance and product life cycle testing

Maintaining complete documentation related to the project

Requirements

Ability to work effectively with cross functional departments andCoordinate with team members, train and motivate them for better efficient results

Prior experience with waste management equipment, hydraulic systems, or material handling equipment is preferred

Awareness of relevant standards (BIS, ISO, Local waste management equipment regulations)

Able to organize and prioritize own work schedule to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Demonstrated experience/expertise in Construction equipment/related products, Trucks selection, hydraulic systems, component selection, and design of products using steel fabrication, welding, forming, machining and assembly.
