Job summary

RECEX Pvt. Ltd. in Kolkata seeks a Senior Manager Design to lead the Design & Development team for heavy hydraulic equipment projects.

You will develop machine designs with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, review client inputs, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable solutions. The role requires strong CAD skills, proficiency in manufacturing processes, and leadership of 8-10 design engineers.

Qualifications

• Mandatory mechanical engineering degree in relevant field.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic equipment and machinery design.
• Experience in designing heavy machinery and interpreting engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop machine designs using SolidWorks & AutoCAD Mechanical.
• Perform calculations and BOM preparation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on heavy machinery and hydraulics projects.
• Interpret client inputs and plan work without altering design intent.
• Provide regular status updates including risks to leads and managers.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards during design.
• Review vendor drawings for site layout compliance.
• Utilize CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) for design tasks.
• Lead development of new products with innovative, cost-effective solutions.
• Apply strong machine design and strength of materials principles.
• Assist in prototype development and testing of new designs.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes like machining, welding, grinding, plating, painting, heat treatment.
• Preferred hydraulic industry experience.
• Manage a design team of 8-10 engineers.

Job Responsibilities

1. Develop machine designs using SolidWorks & AutoCAD Mechanical.

2. Calculations & Design / Bom Preparation.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various heavy machinery and Hydraulics

projects.

4. Review the inputs received from the clients and understand the scope of work and then

plan work accordingly without changing design intent.

5. Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns to Discipline Lead/Project

Manager/Project Lead.

6. Ensure compliance with industry standards during the design process.

7. Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with site layout.

8. AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks (or similar CAD tools)

9. Design and develop new products ensuring innovative and cost-effective solutions.

10. Strong engineering design skills including Machine Design and Strength of Materials.

11. Assist in the development and testing of prototypes for new designs and technologies.

12. Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, welding, grinding, plating,

painting and heat treatments.

13. Preferred experience in the hydraulic industry.

14. Manage a team of 8-10 Design Engineers.
