Job summary

TERI in Delhi seeks an experienced water resources specialist to conduct hydrological and hydrogeological modelling, assist in DPR design and implementation of watershed interventions, and perform field surveys and data collection across project locations.

The role involves GIS-based spatial analysis, statistical interpretation of datasets, and the preparation of technical reports, proposals and knowledge products for client deliverables and research initiatives.

Qualifications

• MSc./MTech in Civil Engineering with >4 years in integrated water resources management, watershed interventions, groundwater management and hydrological assessments.
• PhD in Civil Engineering with >2 years in integrated WRM and related design/implementation work.

Responsibilities

• Undertake hydrological and hydrogeological modelling for water availability assessment and planning.
• Design and implement DPRs for water conservation, watershed management, groundwater recharge and water resource management interventions.
• Conduct policy, regulatory, institutional and economic assessments in water and environmental sectors.
• Perform field surveys, site investigations, data collection and technical assessments at project locations.
• Carry out GIS and Remote Sensing based spatial analysis and modelling.
• Apply statistical methods to hydrological datasets and interpret results.
• Prepare technical proposals, reports, publications and presentations.
• Support project planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery with technical and financial reporting.
• Contribute to research, knowledge dissemination and capacity-building in water resources.

Job Profile

• - Undertake hydrological/hydrogeological modelling using relevant modelling platform for water availability assessment and planning.
• - Undertake projects related to the design including DPR and implementation of water conservation, watershed management, groundwater recharge, and water resource management interventions.
• - Undertake assessments covering policy, regulatory, institutional, and economic aspects in relevant water and environmental sectors.
• - Undertake field surveys, site investigations, data collection, and technical assessments at project locations.
• - Undertake spatial analysis and modelling using GIS and Remote sensing tools.
• - Apply statistical and analytical method to interpret hydrological, hydrogeological and meteorological datasets.
• - Write high-quality technical proposals, reports, publications, presentations, and knowledge products in relevant areas.
• - Support project planning, execution, monitoring and delivery, including preparation and submission of technical and financial reports.
• - Contribute to research, innovation, knowledge dissemination, and capacity-building activities related to water resources and watershed management.
• - Work independently as well as collaboratively across multidisciplinary research team and, where required, lead field-based activities.

General responsibilities:

• - Assist in planning and conducting project meetings, stakeholder consultations workshops, etc.
• - Assist in building relationships with a wider community of industry and government stakeholders in the water domain.
