Job summary

Eaton's Center for Sustainability is seeking an Associate Engineer passionate about environmental accounting and sustainability. You will support Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) through ISO processes for Eaton’s electrical products, collaborating with engineering teams to ensure regulatory compliance and value creation.

You will help develop modular LCAs, compile a library of standard components, and support GHGE calculations across product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental science or Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical/ Electronics engineering.
• 0-3 years’ experience in Sustainability domain, Product or technology development for Industrial, Electrical products or processes.
• Good understanding of eco-design regulations and Life Cycle Assessment standards (ISO 14040/44/25).
• Experience with LCA modelling using software such as EIME, SimaPro, GaBi, OpenLCA is a plus.
• Ability to communicate LCA results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of REACH, RoHS, Prop65 or similar regulations is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint/Word.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed Life Cycle Assessment studies per ISO 14040/14044 for Eaton electrical products.
• Support creation of modular LCAs and a library of standard components and processes.
• Assist product teams in calculating GHG emissions across product lifecycles.
• Evaluate eco-design regulation compliance for applicable directives.
• Communicate LCA findings to stakeholders and support reports.
• Contribute to Design-For-Environment activities in new product development.
• Identify process improvements to boost productivity and efficiency.

What you’ll do:Eaton’s Center for Sustainability is looking for highly motivated individuals who is passionate about environmental accounting and has strong inclination towards Sustainability domain. The Associate Engineer will be supporting Product Environment profiles (PEP) / Environmental Product declarations (EPDs) through life cycle assessment (LCA) and Design for Environment for New Product Introduction, compliance (climate and environmental regulations) for Eaton’s broad portfolio of electrical products. This work will help business across the enterprise meet customer requests related to Life Cycle Assessment, address regulatory challenges and create sustainability value propositions to gain additional business opportunities.\"1. Execute detailed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies as per ISO 14040 & 14044 to evaluate environmental impacts of Eaton electrical products followed by 3rd party verification to publish type-III Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) with support of Engineers.2. Support development of modular LCAs & creation a library of Eaton standard components & processes.3. Support the product engineering teams on the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions associated with the electrical product’s lifecycle.4. Support evaluation of compliance in accordance with applicable eco-design related regulations (e.g. EU-ErP Directive)5. Understand customer requirements and communicate to other Eaton teams6. Provide regular reports on development and support activities.7. Support Design-For-Environment activities for new product development projects8.
