Job summary

Embark is seeking a Lead – Accounting to spearhead accounting operations for our Managed Services clients in Bengaluru. You will manage end-to-end processes, ensure accurate reporting, and act as the primary client liaison to maintain high service levels.

You will drive finance digital transformation, oversee GL/AP/AR, and mentor a team of accounting professionals while delivering compliant, high-quality outputs across multiple engagements.

Qualifications

• Senior accounting professional with client management experience in an outsourcing setup.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities are essential.
• Experience driving finance digital transformation and automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end accounting operations for managed services clients across engagements.
• Oversee GL, AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Ensure timely, compliant financial reporting per standards.
• Act as primary client contact to ensure service quality and satisfaction.
• Manage SLAs, KPIs, and client expectations for service delivery.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities (RPA, workflows, AI tools).
• Lead automation projects from ideation to stabilization and deployment.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, audit, and internal controls requirements.
• Review financials and provide insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and scale a team of accounting professionals.

Job description

We are looking for a Lead – Accounting to drive accounting operations within our Managed Services business. The ideal candidate should come from an Accounting Services firm / outsourcing environment, with strong experience in managing multiple clients, leading service delivery, and driving finance digital transformation and automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end accounting operations for managed services clients across multiple engagements
• Oversee general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in line with applicable accounting standards
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high service quality and satisfaction
• Manage service delivery SLAs, KPIs, and client expectations
• Identify and implement automation opportunities (RPA, workflows, AI-led tools) to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Lead automation projects from ideation to implementation and stabilization
• Ensure compliance with statutory, audit, and internal control requirements
• Review financials and provide insights to clients and internal stakeholders

Preferred Experience

• CA with 12 – 15 years in an Accounting Services firm.
• Proven track record in finance digital transformation and automation projects
• Experience with RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere) and finance tech solutions
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, reporting, and compliance
• Excellent client management, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
