Job summary

GEA Germany GmbH in Vadodara invites an experienced Mechanical Engineer to create 3D models and 2D drawings for GEA technologies. You will own design drawings, generate fabrication drawings and BOMs, and deliver engineering projects on time.

You will collaborate with a global team, read equipment specs and P&ID data, and ensure compliance with welding, surface treatment, and hygiene standards. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD and ERP integrations is required.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in mechanical engineering with relevant experience.
• Experience with 2D & 3D CAD tools, preferably Inventor/AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of welding symbols, fabrication drawings and surface treatment.
• Familiarity with PDM/ERP systems (Vault, SAP, Axapta).

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and 2D drawings for GEA technology products.
• Generate fabrication drawings and bill of materials.
• Review drawings/models per team processes and standards.
• Own design drawings and ensure timely delivery of engineering projects.
• Plan work aligned with project schedules with the manager.
• Produce product deliverables for transportation, lifting and related areas.
• Maintain proactive communication to obtain missing information.

Job description

Responsibilities / Tasks

• Understanding the task and evaluating the required input from business.
• Proactive communication for missing information, tools and/or other resources to execute the task
• Creating 3D models and 2D drawings of various products on the given GEA technology
• Following the drawing/model review process established in team
• Taking full accountability of own design drawings/models
• Generating equipment fabrication drawings and bill of materials
• Responsible to execute and deliver engineering projects to business.
• Planning own work in line with overall project schedule with manager
• Creating product deliverables on transportation, lifting, service and other similar areas
• Time-manage multiple tasks and keep the recipient updated on progress
• Flexible enough to cater new task bedsides design like engineering documentations etc.

Your Profile / Qualifications

• You hold Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience and knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD Tools.
• Preferably Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD 2025 or higher, knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D would be an added advantage.
• Must have knowledge of workflow and integration between Autodesk Vault and Autodesk Inventor or Team Center & Autodesk Inventor.
• Must have knowledge of fabrication drawings, welding symbols & surface treatment.
• Knowledge of hygiene and sanitary requirement of equipment.
• Ability to read & understand Equipment specification, P&ID information & Engineering drawings.
• Technically sound in Design Fundamentals and BOM creation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Good knowledge of PDM & ERP system - Bluestar, Axapta, SAP would be an added advantage.
