Job summary

GEA Group in Vadodara, India, seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop mechanical components and assemblies per project specs. You will create 3D models and 2D drawings with BOM, collaborate with internal teams, and ensure on-time delivery and adherence to standards.

Role requires proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD), parametric modelling, and Teamcenter integration, with strong English communication and a drive for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5–10 years of experience.
• Proficient in 2D & 3D CAD tools, especially Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of parametric and skeleton modelling.
• Experience integrating Teamcenter with CAD tools.
• Strong communication in English and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies based on project requirements and technical specifications.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings with BOM of various products, evaluating input from business.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support collaboration.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables meet timelines, quality objectives, and standards while supporting business and customer requirements.
• Manage communication with global stakeholders across time zones as required.
• Automate repeated processes and improve CAD design quality; interpret technical requirements for CAD automation.
• Drive product standardization to improve design consistency and reduce complexity.
• Maintain CAD configuration with iLogic or other CAD automation; create standard parts and design libraries.

Secondary Tasks Include

• Contribute and support detail design in projects.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings with BOM as per project requirement.
• Co-ordination with relevant team members to understand assigned work and plan for delivery, Complete projects on time with right quality.

Your Profile / Qualifications

• You hold Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and minimum 5-10 years of experience in your respective field.
• Experience and knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD Tools, Preferably Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD.
• Good knowledge of Parametric and Skeleton modelling.
• Good knowledge of workflow and integration between Teamcenter and Autodesk Inventor.
• Good Knowledge of Design & Engineering principles, Knowledge of fabrication processes, welding technology, drafting proficiency, welding symbols & surface treatment.
• Self-driven, learn continuously, extract learning from experience, share and help team.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Takes on tough challenges with sense of ownership, Approach work individually and with teams with optimism and solution-oriented Agile mindset.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
