Northern Trust in Pune, India is seeking an Associate Consultant to support Omnium Services. You will ensure accurate transaction capture, track lifecycle events, and liaise with clients and market participants to settle trades.

You will also perform reconciliations, address complex queries, and provide SME support to the team. A finance/ economics/ maths background and 2–5+ years' experience are preferred, with a client‑focused, deadline‑driven mindset.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics or related field.
  • 1–5+ years of professional experience in financial services.
  • Knowledge of custody, fund administration and derivatives is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all transactions are captured and accounted for accurately.
  • Track and execute lifecycle events from setup to closeout.
  • Liaise with clients and market participants to confirm and settle trades.
  • Perform and review reconciliations between internal and external data sources.
  • Respond to complex queries from external parties regarding trades/positions.
  • Represent the team in cross-functional initiatives and projects.
  • Provide technical guidance to onboard new hires and address escalations.
  • Act as SME and provide workflow direction and transaction approvals when needed.

Strong and clear written and verbal communication. • Highly numerate and analytical with an ability to learn quickly. • Ability to work on multiple initiatives concurrently and prioritize effectively • Basic understanding of custody and fund administration functions required • Creative and dynamic approach to problem solving • Ability to work on own initiative and adhere to strict deadlines • Professional approach and ability to develop relationships both internally and externallyExperience • 1. 2-5+ years of professional experience in the relevant field • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field (finance, economics, mathematics, etc.) • Business or financial services qualification or studying for same.
