Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the warehouse for Market 99. The role will be responsible for ensuring efficient receiving, storage, picking, packing, inventory management, and dispatch of retail merchandise while maintaining accuracy, safety, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, team supervision, and retail supply-chain processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Warehouse Operations

• Assist the Warehouse Manager in managing daily warehouse activities.
• Ensure smooth receiving, unloading, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch operations.
• Maintain proper product storage and ensure efficient utilization of warehouse space.
• Ensure timely movement of merchandise to retail stores and other designated locations.
• Monitor adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

2. Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock movements.
• Monitor inward and outward stock transactions.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical stock audits.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, damages, shortages, and excess inventory.
• Ensure proper handling of fast-moving, slow-moving, damaged, and obsolete stock.
• Coordinate with the merchandising, procurement, and store teams for stock requirements.

3. Team Management

• Supervise warehouse staff, including loaders, pickers, packers, and other warehouse associates.
• Allocate daily tasks and monitor employee productivity.
• Train team members on warehouse procedures, safety standards, and product handling.
• Maintain discipline, attendance, and work standards within the warehouse team.
• Motivate the team to achieve productivity and accuracy targets.

4. Receiving & Dispatch

• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documents.
• Ensure correct quantity and quality checks during receiving.
• Coordinate accurate picking and packing as per store/customer requirements.
• Verify dispatch documentation before shipments leave the warehouse.
• Coordinate with transporters and logistics partners for timely deliveries.

5. Systems & Documentation

• Ensure timely and accurate updating of inventory in the ERP/WMS system.
• Prepare daily and periodic reports related to inventory, receiving, dispatch, productivity, and discrepancies.
• Maintain proper warehouse documentation and records.
• Ensure all transactions are completed accurately and within the required timelines.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with warehouse safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain cleanliness, housekeeping, and proper organization of the warehouse.
• Ensure appropriate handling and storage of merchandise.
• Report safety hazards, accidents, product damage, or operational issues to management.
• Support implementation of loss-prevention and shrinkage-control measures.
