Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce or MBA or equivalent.
• 12+ years in treasury, payments, banking operations, FX processing, and payment investigations.
• Hands-on SWIFT and FED payment processing.
• Knowledge of treasury operations and end-to-end payment workflows.
• Experience in payment investigations and resolving transaction issues.
• Exposure to Transfer Agency, Treasury Ops, Banking Ops, or Fund Services is a plus.
• Hedge Funds and Private Equity knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret SSIs and identify missing/incorrect payment details.
• Verify vendor invoices related to funds and custody services; process payments.
• Perform custody and fund-related bank invoice verifications.
• Manage payments for subscriptions and redemptions.
• Monitor payment mailboxes; prioritize transactions by currency cut-off times.
• Support global locations with daily payment processing and operations.
• Respond to client and local office queries promptly.
• Ensure daily transactions are accurate and timely.
• Escalate significant issues and bottlenecks to management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams; manage multiple priorities.
• Prepare and maintain operational reports and MIS.
• Drive operational excellence with adherence to controls and compliance.
• Lead and mentor a team of 10+ members; provide coaching.
• Flexible to work across shifts to support global operations.

Job description

• Possess a strong understanding of payment processing, including SWIFT (MT103, MT202), FED payments, internal transfers, and FX transactions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of global banking and payment identifiers such as ABA, Sort Code, BSB, BIC, IBAN, RTGS, NEFT, and various cash settlement methods.
• Have prior experience in a manual payments/wire processing environment with a clear understanding of the end-to-end payment lifecycle.
• Review and interpret Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs) and identify any missing or incorrect payment details.
• Verify vendor invoices related to funds and custody services and process payments through banking portals.
• Perform custody and fund-related bank invoice verification activities.
• Manage payments associated with subscriptions and redemptions.
• Monitor payment mailboxes and prioritize transactions based on currency-specific cut-off timings.
• Support global locations with daily payment processing requirements and operational activities.
• Respond to client and local office queries via email and phone in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure all daily transactions are processed accurately and completed within agreed timelines.
• Escalate significant issues, risks, and processing bottlenecks to management promptly.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Prepare and maintain operational reports and MIS.
• Drive operational excellence and ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance requirements.
• Manage and lead a team of 10+ members, providing guidance, performance management, and coaching.
• Flexible to work across different shifts to support global operations.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), MBA, or an equivalent qualification.
• 12+ years of experience in Treasury, Payments, Banking Operations, FX Processing, and Payment Investigations.
• Hands‑on experience in SWIFT and FED payment processing.
• Strong understanding of treasury operations and end-to-end payment workflows.
• Experience in handling payment investigations and resolving transaction‑related issues.
• Prior exposure to Transfer Agency, Treasury Operations, Banking Operations, or Fund Services will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Hedge Funds and Private Equity structures is desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong people management, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
