Role Purpose

The Director Global Payments Operations will lead global payment operations across multiple regions, ensuring seamless, accurate, and compliant processing of domestic and cross-border payments. The role will drive operational excellence, transformation, governance, and client experience while partnering with global business, technology, and risk stakeholders to deliver strategic initiatives across the payments value chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Global Payments Operations, including Wire Transfers, SWIFT, ACH, SEPA, CHAPS, Fedwire, Faster Payments, Real-Time Payments (RTP), and other domestic and international payment rails.
• Provide strategic leadership for global teams, ensuring consistent service delivery, operational resilience, and adherence to SLAs across regions.
• Drive operational excellence through process standardization, automation, Lean/Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish and strengthen risk and control frameworks, ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements, sanctions, AML, and internal policies.
• Lead payment investigations, exception management, reconciliations, and issue resolution while minimizing operational risk and financial losses.
• Partner with Product, Technology, Treasury, Compliance, Risk, and Business leaders to deliver strategic transformation and platform modernization initiatives.
• Champion digital transformation by leveraging AI, GenAI, RPA, workflow automation, and data analytics to improve efficiency, scalability, and client experience.
• Lead large‑scale migrations, operating model changes, and global transformation programs across Payments Operations.
• Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and implementation of remediation actions.

Required Experience

• 18+ years of experience in Global Banking Operations, with significant leadership experience in Global Payments Operations.
• Deep understanding of global payment ecosystems, including SWIFT, correspondent banking, cross-border payments, liquidity management, and major domestic payment schemes.
• Proven experience leading large, geographically dispersed global teams in a Banking GCC or multinational banking environment.
• Demonstrated success in leading enterprise‑wide transformation, automation, and operating model optimization.
