Qualifications

Job description

Job Purpose

To teach, and mentor students in the domain of Product Design, contributing to academic excellence, industry-relevant learning, and creative innovation at School of Design, MIT Vishwaprayag University. The faculty member will also participate in curriculum development, research, and collaborative design projects with industry and academia.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures, studio sessions, and workshops in Product Design.
• Mentor students through projects, portfolio development, and internships.
• Develop curriculum and teaching material aligned with current industry standards.
• Participate in academic reviews, exhibitions, juries, and student evaluations.
• Collaborate with industry partners to bring live projects and case studies into classrooms.

Qualification & Experience

Educational Qualification

Master's Degree in Design (M.Des) in Product Design or a related discipline from a recognized institution. Ph.D. candidate would be preferred.

Experience

3-5 years of academic and/or professional experience in the relevant design domain.

Prior teaching experience in a design institute will be preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of design principles, human-centered design, and digital tools.

Proficiency in design software such as Rhino, Solidworks, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, or similar.

Ability to mentor students in design thinking, concept development, and execution.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Passion for teaching, creativity, and continuous learning.

Desirable Attributes

Experience in handling industry projects or consultancy assignments.

Knowledge of new media, emerging technologies, and digital design trends.

Contribution to research, publications, or professional design networks.
