Assistant Procurement Manager Semiconductor & Electronic Components

1. Role Overview

The Assistant Procurement Manager will support sourcing, vendor development, commercial evaluation, and procurement of semiconductor and electronic components from domestic and international suppliers.

The role requires hands-on experience in RFQ management, supplier quotation analysis, price negotiation, alternate sourcing, and vendor comparison. The position will also work closely with the Sales team to provide competitive pricing, sourcing intelligence, and timely quotation support.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop domestic and international suppliers for semiconductor and electronic components.
• Build and maintain relationships with semiconductor manufacturers, authorized/franchised distributors, and independent distributors.
• Manage RFQs and analyze supplier quotations based on price, lead time, MOQ, availability, packaging, authenticity, payment terms, and commercial conditions.
• Negotiate component pricing, payment terms, MOQ, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms with suppliers.
• Review vendor comparison statements and recommend sourcing options based on cost, quality, reliability, lead time, availability, and supply risk.
• Identify alternate sources for hard-to-find, obsolete, EOL, allocation-constrained, and long-lead-time electronic components.
• Support the Sales team with competitive procurement pricing and timely closure of customer quotation requirements.
• Monitor semiconductor component availability, shortages, allocation situations, lead-time changes, and pricing movements.
• Track manufacturer EOL (End-of-Life), PCN (Product Change Notification), and product availability updates.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities through alternate sourcing, supplier negotiation, and vendor development.
• Maintain supplier records, quotation history, vendor databases, procurement documentation, and sourcing information.
• Ensure timely closure of RFQs and coordinate with Sales, Logistics, Finance, and suppliers for procurement-related activities.

3. Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on procurement/sourcing experience in the semiconductor or electronic components industry.
• Experience sourcing through semiconductor manufacturers, authorized/franchised distributors, and independent distributors.
• Understanding of international sourcing, import procurement, commercial terms, and Incoterms.
• Working knowledge of semiconductor and electronic component supply chains.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for quotation analysis, vendor comparison, and procurement reporting.
