Assistant Planning Engineer - Primavera P6

Job summary

Talentrouters is seeking an experienced Assistant Planning Engineer in Kanpur with 10+ years of expertise in planning and project controls for large industrial construction projects. Proficiency in Primavera P6, project scheduling, progress monitoring, documentation, and MIS reporting is required.

You will develop and maintain schedules, monitor progress, manage MDR/MDL, coordination across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, and vendors, and generate regular MIS dashboards and MOMs.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Primavera P6.
• Advanced MS Excel and proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of MS Project and SAP/ERP systems.
• Exposure to Aconex, BIM 360, Procore, or other EDMS/document management systems.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, including WBS, baseline schedules, look-ahead plans, and progress updates.
• Monitor project progress against planned schedules and identify delays, critical activities, and schedule variances.
• Maintain project documentation including MDR, MDL, drawing revisions, RFIs, submittals, and transmittals.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, and vendors for smooth project execution.
• Track procurement, material requirements, vendor deliveries, logistics, inventory, and PO status.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports, dashboards, progress reports, and MOMs.
• Support project teams in identifying schedule risks, bottlenecks, and recovery actions.
• Maintain accurate project records and ensure timely updating of planning and documentation systems.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure planned activities are executed within schedule.

Job Summary
