Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Assistant/Mechanical BIM Engineer to join our Global Delivery Services Centre in India. The role involves modelling plumbing and water systems, developing layouts and BOQs, and coordinating with MEP and structural teams on BIM workflows.

We value experience in PHE design, strong software proficiency (AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks, AECOsim, MicroStation) and the ability to mentor junior staff. Flexible collaboration across international teams is a part of this role.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of PHE design experience.
• Experience in modelling plumbing & layout drawings.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks, AECOsim and MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare water supply, storm water and drainage layouts, schematic drawings and BOQs.
• Provide inputs for design calculations and standards compliance.
• Coordinate with MEP and structural services.
• Coordinate with BIM leads for model uploads, workflows and clash resolution.
• Complete deliverables within deadlines and maintain quality.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior staff in the section.
• Lead a team of Modellers with minimal supervision.

As part of GDSC in India, you will be working alongside Mott MacDonald international colleagues delivering ambitious projects across a broad range of building types including commercial, residential, retail and offices, education, healthcare, airports, datacenter, hotels, sports and events venues, and Metro & stations. Under this sector, our services span the whole asset cycle from advisory to consulting, through design and delivery, to asset management. With deep understanding of all phases of the building lifecycle, it enables us to give our clients the best-informed engineering and innovative solutions.

Key Deliverables

• Preparation of Water supply layout/storm water design layout/drainage layout, Schematic drawings, statutory approval drawings & material take-off from PHE layouts


• Providing basic inputs for design calculations


• Coordination with other MEP and structural services


• Coordination with other BIM leads for uploading the models, Initiating workflows, Model conversions and effective clash resolving with MEP and other services.


• Work within time limits to complete deliverables on time


• Share knowledge and experience with junior staff in the section and to help develop junior staff


• Handle a team of Modellers independently with minimal supervision.

Candidate Specification :

• Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent in respective engineering discipline


• Possess 4+ years of experience in the field of PHE design as above


• Experience in modelling of plumbing & layout preparations, Schematic diagrams and preparation of BOQ


• Experience in relevant design software such as Auto CAD, REVIT, Navis work, Aecosim, microstation and IT Literacy


• Have good oral and written communication skills
