Job summary

Mott MacDonald India Global Delivery Services Centre is seeking a seasoned PHE design engineer with 4+ years of experience to contribute to water, drainage, and BIM-enabled project delivery. The role involves coordinating with MEP and structural teams, producing schematic drawings, and ensuring timely outputs across commercial, residential, and public sector projects.

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in PHE design and related tasks.
• Experience in modelling plumbing layouts, schematic diagrams and BOQ preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare water supply, storm water, and drainage layouts and related drawings.
• Provide basic inputs for design calculations and schematics.
• Coordinate with other MEP and structural services and BIM leads; upload models and resolve clashes.
• Share knowledge with junior staff and supervise modeller teams.
• Ensure deliverables are completed within agreed timeframes.

As part of GDSC in India, you will be working alongside Mott MacDonald international colleagues delivering ambitious projects across a broad range of building types including commercial, residential, retail and offices, education, healthcare, airports, datacenter, hotels, sports and events venues, and Metro & stations. Under this sector, our services span the whole asset cycle from advisory to consulting, through design and delivery, to asset management. With deep understanding of all phases of the building lifecycle, it enables us to give our clients the best-informed engineering and innovative solutions.

Key Deliverables

• Preparation of Water supply layout/storm water design layout/drainage layout, Schematic drawings, statutory approval drawings & material take-off from PHE layouts
• Providing basic inputs for design calculations
• Coordination with other MEP and structural services
• Coordination with other BIM leads for uploading the models, Initiating workflows, Model conversions and effective clash resolving with MEP and other services.
• Work within time limits to complete deliverables on time
• Share knowledge and experience with junior staff in the section and to help develop junior staff
• Handle a team of Modellers independently with minimal supervision.

Candidate Specification :

• Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent in respective engineering discipline
• Possess 4+ years of experience in the field of PHE design as above
• Experience in modelling of plumbing & layout preparations, Schematic diagrams and preparation of BOQ
• Experience in relevant design software such as Auto CAD, REVIT, Navis work, Aecosim, microstation and IT Literacy
• Have good oral and written communication skills
