Job summary

Lumax Industries is seeking to strengthen its procurement network by identifying and developing new vendors for electronics components, PCBs and SMT consumables. The role coordinates with Quality, Engineering, Production and Purchasing for approvals and ensures supplier capability, delivery and cost objectives.

You will conduct supplier audits, obtain quotations, and drive localization to reduce dependency while maintaining quality.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new vendors for electronic components, PCBs, PCBAs, SMT consumables and other electronics-related materials.
• Conduct vendor identification, evaluation, capability assessment.
• Coordinate with the Quality, Engineering, Production and Purchasing teams for vendor approval.
• Conduct supplier visits or audits to assess manufacturing capability, quality systems and capacity.
• Obtain and compare quotations; support cost negotiation and cost reduction initiatives.
• Develop alternate/local sources to reduce dependency and improve supply continuity.
• Ensure vendors meet required quality standards, specifications and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate samples, trial lots, PPAP/FAI or other required approval documentation.
• Monitor supplier performance through Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD) parameters.
• Work with suppliers on corrective actions for quality issues and delivery concerns.
• Maintain vendor database, evaluation records, development status and commercial documentation.
• Support localization and new product development activities.
• Coordinate with suppliers for urgent material requirements to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Develop vendors for SMT-related consumables such as solder paste, solder wire, stencil, feeder-related items, ESD materials, chemicals and packaging materials, as applicable.
