Job summary

Biotech Healthcare in Ahmedabad is seeking a seasoned Materials Planner to ensure timely availability of raw and packing materials, aligning supply with production schedules and maintaining optimal stock levels.

You will execute SAP MRP runs, generate purchase requisitions, coordinate PR to PO conversion, track deliveries, manage inventory control, and deliver MIS reports to support cross‑functional planning and uninterrupted production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in SCM/Operations/Engineering or related field.
• CPIM or equivalent certification is a plus.
• 8–10 years of experience in material planning, supply planning, or inventory management in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with SAP MRP runs and material planning processes.
• Experience raising PRs, coordinating for PO, and vendor follow-ups.
• Strong SAP MM/MRP proficiency and Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of inventory management and supply chain processes.

Responsibilities

• Run MRP in SAP to identify material requirements based on production plans.
• Analyze MRP outputs for shortages, excess inventory, or gaps.
• Create and release Purchase Requisitions (PR) in SAP from MRP results.
• Coordinate with procurement to convert PR to PO on time.
• Follow up with procurement and vendors for on-time deliveries.
• Ensure material availability aligns with production plan to avoid interruptions.
• Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and consumption trends.
• Coordinate with Production Planning, Stores, Quality, and Procurement for smooth material flow.
• Track incoming materials and proactively flag delays or shortages.
• Maintain planning parameters and master data in SAP for material planning.
• Support cross-functional teams in material code creation, BOM updates, and master data.
• Prepare MIS reports on material planning, shortages, and inventory status.
• Ensure documentation and adherence to planning processes and QA systems.

The key objective of this position is to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packing materials to support uninterrupted production operations. The role is responsible for executing Material Requirement Planning (MRP) runs, generating purchase requisitions, coordinating with procurement teams for purchase order creation, and ensuring timely delivery of materials as per production schedules.

The position plays a critical role in aligning material availability with production plans, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to avoid production delays due to material shortages.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or equivalent will be considered an advantage.
• 8-10 years of experience in material planning, supply planning, or inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on experience in executing MRP runs and material planning processes.
• Experience in raising Purchase Requisitions (PR), coordinating for Purchase Orders (PO), and vendor delivery follow-ups.
• Hands-on experience with SAP (MRP / MM modules) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Solid understanding of inventory management, material planning, and supply chain processes.

Role & Responsibilities

• Execute MRP runs in SAP to identify material requirements based on production plans and demand forecasts.
• Analyze MRP outputs and identify material shortages, excess inventory, or planning gaps.
• Create and release Purchase Requisitions (PR) in SAP based on MRP results and production requirements.
• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely conversion of PR to Purchase Orders (PO).
• Follow up with procurement and vendors to ensure on-time delivery of raw materials and packing materials.
• Ensure material availability in line with the production plan to prevent production interruptions.
• Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and consumption trends to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Coordinate with Production Planning, Stores, Quality, and Procurement teams to ensure smooth material flow.
• Track incoming materials and proactively elevate potential delivery delays or shortages.
• Maintain accurate planning parameters and master data in SAP for material planning activities.
• Support cross-functional teams in material code creation, BOM updates, and planning master data updates where required.
• Prepare and maintain MIS reports related to material planning, shortages, and inventory status.
• Ensure proper documentation and adherence to planning processes and internal quality systems.
