Job summary

Cyient Limited in Mysore is seeking a Sr. Executive Material Planning to manage material planning activities for electronics manufacturing.

You will ensure timely availability of raw materials, electronic components, and production materials to meet schedules and optimize inventory. The role requires strong knowledge of MRP, BOM reviews, ERP usage, and cross-functional coordination with procurement, production, stores, and QA to minimize shortages and excess stock while supporting NPI and BOM

Qualifications

• 58 years of relevant experience in Material Planning, MRP, or Supply Chain Management.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing preferred.
• Proficiency with BOM, MRP, inventory management, and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute material requirement plans (MRP) based on production plans, demand, and forecasts.
• Ensure timely availability of electronic components, raw materials, consumables, and packaging materials.
• Review BOMs and schedules to identify material requirements and lead times.
• Coordinate with procurement, production, stores, and QA to ensure smooth material flow.
• Monitor shortages, open POs, supplier commitments and delivery schedules.
• Support NPI, engineering changes, and BOM revisions for material readiness.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels and reduce excess/obsolete stock.
• Prepare daily/weekly material shortage and inventory reports.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Executive Material Planning to manage material planning activities for electronics manufacturing operations. The role involves ensuring the timely availability of raw materials, electronic components, and other production materials to meet production schedules, optimize inventory levels, and minimize material shortages and excess stock.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute material requirement plans (MRP) based on production plans, customer demand, and sales forecasts.
• Ensure timely availability of electronic components, raw materials, consumables, and packaging materials to support uninterrupted production.
• Review BOMs (Bill of Materials), production schedules, inventory levels, and open purchase orders to identify material requirements.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Production, Stores, Warehouse, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth material flow.
• Monitor material shortages, pending purchase orders, supplier commitments, and delivery schedules.
• Follow up with suppliers and the purchase team to ensure timely delivery of critical and long-lead-time components.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels by minimizing excess, obsolete, and slow-moving materials.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, stock ageing, material consumption, and component availability.
• Prepare and circulate daily/weekly material shortage reports, MRP reports, and inventory status reports.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), engineering changes, and BOM revisions to ensure material readiness.
• Identify risks related to component shortages, supplier delays, and production plan changes, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate material allocation and prioritization based on production requirements and customer delivery commitments.
• Ensure proper tracking of rejected, excess, obsolete, and non-moving materials in coordination with relevant departments.
• Participate in inventory reviews, cycle counts, stock reconciliation, and internal or external audits.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material planning accuracy, inventory turnover, and overall supply chain efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Any Graduate.
• 58 years of relevant experience in Material Planning, Material Requirement Planning (MRP), or Supply Chain Management.
• Experience in the electronics manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Good understanding of BOMs, MRP, inventory management, production planning, and procurement processes.
• Experience in handling electronic components such as PCBs, ICs, connectors, resistors, capacitors, and other electronic parts is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and material planning reports.
