Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. is seeking a skilled manufacturing engineer to develop CATIA DieFace models for BIW components with high precision, enabling downstream manufacturing and quality adherence.

You will conduct AutoForm incremental forming simulations, apply springback compensation, and perform PFMEA while collaborating with design teams to ensure robust manufacturability and smooth production flow. Additional duties include surface analysis of Class A panels, progressive stamping studies,

Qualifications

  • CATIA DieFace modeling for BIW components with high precision.
  • AutoForm incremental forming simulations with springback compensation.
  • Surface analysis of Class A panels for aesthetics and accuracy.
  • Experience in stamping process simulations and PFMEA.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior engineers in stamping and simulation.
  • Documentation of simulation results and process changes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed CATIA DieFace models for BIW components.
  • Perform AutoForm simulations and apply springback compensation.
  • Analyze Class A surfaces for aesthetic finish and accuracy.
  • Conduct progressive panel simulations across stamping stages.
  • Validate material models and process concepts.
  • Create 3D process flows in CATIA with tooling and sequencing.
  • Collaborate in concurrent engineering to reduce lead times.
  • Conduct PFMEA on manufacturing processes and implement mitigations.
  • Maintain project documentation and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers in stamping and simulation.

Job description

  • Develop detailed CATIA DieFace models specifically for Body in White (BIW) components, ensuring precision to facilitate subsequent manufacturing operations and quality adherence.
  • Conduct comprehensive AutoForm incremental forming simulations to analyse material behavior during the stamping process, implementing springback compensation techniques to optimize panel conformity.
  • Perform in-depth surface analysis on Class A panels to ensure superior aesthetic finish and dimensional accuracy, collaborating closely with design teams to address any deviations.
  • Execute progressive panel simulation studies encompassing multiple stamping stages to validate process feasibility and enhance production efficiency.
  • Analyse and validate material models to ensure accurate representation of mechanical and physical properties critical to forming and manufacturing processes.
  • Plan and develop 3D process flows within CATIA, integrating tooling, sequencing, and process parameters for streamlined manufacturing execution.
  • Collaborate in simultaneous and concurrent engineering initiatives, working across cross-functional teams to drive design for manufacturability and reduce lead times.
  • Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) focusing on manufacturing processes to identify risk factors and implement robust mitigation strategies, thereby enhancing product quality and consistency.
  • Carry out comprehensive feasibility studies to assess new manufacturing techniques, tooling concepts, and process improvements with a focus on cost-effectiveness and reliability.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers within the stamping and simulation departments to foster knowledge sharing and talent development.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of simulation results, design changes, and process adjustments ensuring transparent communication with stakeholders and compliance with company standards.
