Job summary

e2E RAIL Group is seeking an experienced S&T Consultant to provide site support and oversee commissioning activities for railway signalling and telecom systems. The role covers installation, testing, and ensuring compliance with approved designs and safety standards across project timelines.

You will lead site teams, coordinate interfaces with Civil, OHE, Electrical, and Traction Power teams, and support client and authority inspections to ensure successful project completion.

Qualifications

  • ITI / Diploma / Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunication, or allied discipline.
  • 15–20+ years of experience in Railway / Metro S&T projects.
  • Proven experience in installation, testing, and commissioning of signalling systems.
  • Exposure to EI, PI, Track Circuits, Axle Counters, and telecom systems preferred.

Role Overview

The S&T Consultant will provide technical support and end-to-end oversight for Signalling & Telecommunication (S&T) works from installation through testing and commissioning. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with approved designs, signalling principles, safety standards, and successful system commissioning within project timelines.

Key Responsibilities
1. Site Support & Supervision
  • Provide technical guidance to site teams for installation and execution of S&T systems.
  • Supervise execution activities related to signalling equipment rooms, trackside installations, and station systems.
  • Resolve site-level technical issues and deviations during installation and integration activities.
  • Oversee installation of signalling equipment including location boxes, signals, point machines, track circuits, axle counters, and associated cabling.
  • Ensure proper laying, termination, and testing of signalling and telecom cables (OF cable, quad cable, control cables).
  • Monitor installation of telecom systems such as PA/PIS, CCTV, networking, and communication systems where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation standards.
  • Coordinate testing and commissioning of signalling systems including interlocking, track detection systems, and telecom interfaces.
  • Support functional testing, integration testing, and trial operations.
  • Ensure readiness for blocks, system cutovers, and commissioning activities.
  • Assist during inspections and approvals by Client / Railway / Metro authorities.
4. Coordination & Interface Management
  • Coordinate with Civil, OHE, Electrical, Rolling Stock, and Traction Power teams for interface activities.
  • Liaise with client representatives, contractors, OEMs, and vendors for smooth execution.
  • Support shutdown/block activities and restoration works during commissioning phases.
5. Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to Railway / Metro signalling standards, safety protocols, and approved procedures.
  • Review inspection reports, test records, and commissioning documentation.
  • Promote safe work practices and compliance with statutory and railway safety requirements.
Qualification & Experience
Qualification
  • ITI / Diploma / Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunication, or allied discipline.
Experience
  • Minimum 15–20+ years of experience in Railway / Metro S&T projects.
  • Proven experience in installation, testing, and commissioning of signalling systems.
  • Exposure to Electronic Interlocking (EI), Panel Interlocking (PI), Track Circuits, Axle Counters, and Telecom systems preferred.
  • Strong hands‑on knowledge of railway signalling and telecom systems.
  • Ability to guide and manage large site teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong troubleshooting and coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with block working, commissioning procedures, and safety protocols.

Working knowledge of MS Office for reporting and documentation.
