Business Title: Assistant Manager - Reliability & Maintenance
Reporting to: Assistant General Manager - Maintenance
Role Purpose Statement
- Attend day‑to‑day preventive, planned, shutdown, and breakdown maintenance.
Main Accountabilities
- Translate the organization's business goals into appropriate Maintenance, Reliability and Life Cycle Cost goals that support and contribute to the organization's business results, and carry out this responsibility.
- Use the facility Mission Statement to articulate a Mission and Vision statement for the Maintenance and Reliability function.
- Create tactical and strategic plans for achieving the mission.
- Prepare and present the business case for plan implementation.
- Obtain approval and funding for executing the plans.
- Sell necessary changes to stakeholders within and external to the organization.
- Identify barriers and risks to plan implementation and develop necessary strategies to mitigate them.
- Define necessary channels to adequately communicate plan implementation status to stakeholders.
- Reach mutually beneficial agreements with all supported operating departments on required capacity specifications, ideally in terms of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) or a similar metric measuring capacity losses related to quality, availability, and performance.
- Develop and control the maintenance budget that provides optimized spending to achieve the agreed‑upon capacity and asset reliability.
- Periodically benchmark current performance with internal and external sources to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor and control plant energy KPIs and ensure utility equipment’s uptime.
- Identify opportunities for energy conservation, process and asset optimization, and execute compliance.
- Facilitate good environmental, health and safety performance.
- Develop and enforce a comprehensive Engineering Change Management process.
- Implement a structured process for performing maintenance work.
- Implement organizational structure and systems that promote a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Ensure effective use and integration of information technologies.
- Foster a culture that does not tolerate equipment failures and seeks to understand and eliminate the causes using techniques such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Ensure equipment maintenance plans are created and implemented to support required levels of reliability.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 4–8 years of relevant experience
