Job summary

Tataconsumer is seeking an Assistant Manager - R&D Packaged Beverages on a fixed-term basis in Bengaluru. You will lead technical aspects of product development for beverages, including formulation, processing, shelf life, cost, and safety targets, coordinating with the cross-functional team.

You will manage food safety, design and run stability studies, maintain NPD lab and pilot plant, execute development plans with internal teams and third parties, and contribute to new ideas in line with

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical aspects of the product development brief (including formulation, processing, shelf life, product costs, compliance & safety) on beverages projects meeting targets on timeline, cost, and consumer acceptance.
• Manage food safety aspects of the development process and liaising with the compliance team to ensure appropriate regulatory requirements are adhered to.
• Design and Manage manufacturing and stability study protocols for the projects assigned.
• General upkeep of the NPD laboratory, Sensory Room, Storage areas and Pilot plant with assistance, wherever required.
• Execute the product development plan with focus on prototype development, pilot plant/factory trials and launch support, collaborating with CFT and third parties as required.
• Create ingredient, product and process specifications including the recipe/BoM on the prescribed Specification Management Systems.
• Design and manage sensory testing plan and protocols (using sensory testing tool) for the projects under packaged beverages portfolio.
• Timely & Appropriate inputs for successfully resolving process / product issues at manufacturing locations.
• Maintenance and servicing of NPD lab equipment.
• Management of temporary resources and lab attendants.
• Keep up to date with food & drinks trends, competitor development and consumer and customer expectations.
• Generate new ideas in relation to product/ technology platforms aligned with business priorities.

Job Description

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?
