Job summary

Flex is seeking an Assistant Manager - Process to join our Sriperumbudur team. The role focuses on supporting engineering with prototyping, product builds, bring up, testing and successful manufacturing release, while coordinating with multiple functional experts to expand Flex's knowledge base.

The position requires strong leadership, technical know-how, and deep knowledge of Flex processes. Health insurance and paid time off are provided, with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Functional knowledge and 4 years of experience in related field.
• Proven leadership, people and/or process management skills.
• Strong customer relationship skills (internal and external).
• Thorough understanding of Flex and related business.

Responsibilities

• Work with a matrixed, cross functional team of technical experts to extend and build new resources/capabilities for Flex knowledge base.
• Drive toward creative, robust, and effective solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering on prototyping, product build, bring up, test, and successful release to manufacturing.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop technically robust solutions for diverse design problems.
• Manage design parameters and tradeoff priorities with team members.
• Help develop best practices, identify equipment and material needs with team members.
• Resolve, define and design system/subsystem approaches to meet project goals and schedules.
• Identify standard products and sub-blocks for inclusion in solution proposals.
• Develop relationships with internal design teams and subcontractors for future technologies.
• Strive for improvements and efficiencies in Engineering area.
• Monitor KPIs for engineering processes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical development and trends in the field.

What a typical day looks like:

• Working with a matrixed, cross functional team of technical experts within Flex organization, extending and building new resources/ capabilities to incorporate into the Flex knowledge base.

• Hold up engineering team with prototyping, product build, bring up, test, documentation, and successful release to manufacturing.
• Contribute with a cross functional team to develop technically robust and effective solutions to a wide variety of design problems.
• Manage design parameters and design tradeoff priorities in close coordination with other team members.
• Help develop best practices, identify equipment, and material needs with members of the team.
• Ability to resolve, define and design the system and subsystems approaches to meet project and program design goals, requirements and schedules.
• Identify standard products and sub-blocks for inclusion into solution proposals.
• Develop key relationships with internal design teams as well subcontractors to plan comprehensive product strategies based on future technologies.
• Strives for improvements and efficiencies in Engineering area.
• Monitors KPIs for engineering processes.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of technical development and trends in the field of expertise.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Functional knowledge, education background or 4 years working experience required.
• Demonstrates advanced functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
• Demonstrates mastery of expertise in multiple areas and industry.
• Demonstrates expert knowledge of the function and a thorough comprehension of Flex and related business.
• Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/ processes, industries or functions and comprehension of connections of such processes.
