Job summary

Voltas in Gujarat, India, is seeking a Material Planner to manage daily assembly planning, MRP execution, and procurement coordination. The role involves ensuring target achievement, material availability, and compliance with internal processes and audits.

You will generate reports on material shortages, inventory, and gate passes, while coordinating with design, procurement, and production teams for smooth New Product Introduction (NPI) and new model readiness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and release the Daily Assembly Plan based on production targets and material availability.
• Generate and maintain the Material Shortage Report to ensure timely procurement and avoid production delays.
• Run MRP (Material Requirements Planning) monthly to assess material needs against the production plan.
• Initiate Purchase Requisitions (PRs) based on approved material requests and planning requirements.
• Review and implement Engineering Change Notes (ECNs) in coordination with relevant departments.
• Handle SAP activities for new models, including EAN (European Article Number) code generation.
• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) system in the planning and production areas.
• Validate Bill of Materials (BOM) for new products during pilot production to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams for smooth new product introduction (NPI).
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal processes and audit requirements.
• Prepare and maintain the Monthly Inventory Report with accuracy and completeness.
• Generate and manage RGP (Returnable Gate Pass) and NRGP (Non-Returnable Gate Pass) as per operational requirements.
• Track and report Monthly RGP/NRGP status for internal and audit purposes.
• Extract Vendor Rejection List from SAP and coordinate the return of rejected materials to vendors after confirmation from the Purchase team.
• Review and prepare Shortage and Excess Stock Reports to support inventory optimization.
• Generate a Monthly Shelf-Life Report for identified materials to ensure timely usage and avoid expiry.
• Maintain 5S standards in the store area to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) system in the store area.
• Coordinate with quality, purchase, and production teams for smooth material flow and issue resolution.
• Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and compliance.
• Participate in periodic stock audits and cycle counts.

• Ensure all rejected materials are stored in the designated rejection area with proper rejection tags for traceability.
• Maintain 5S standards in the store area to ensure cleanliness, organization, and efficiency.
• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) system in the store area.
• Coordinate with procurement, quality, and production teams for smooth material flow and issue resolution.
• Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and compliance.
