Job summary

Total It Consult in India is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support IT service projects, focusing on EUC, desktop support, hardware maintenance, and infrastructure services. You will assist in project delivery, vendor management, budgeting, and coordinating with global customers for seamless execution.

Ideal candidates have 3–4 years in PM, knowledge of Prince2, PMP exposure, and a degree in IT/Engineering/MBA. Willingness to travel domestically/internationally is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 3–4 years of experience in Project Management.
• Experience in IT services/projects (EUC, desktop support, hardware maintenance).
• Prince2 Practitioner mandatory; PMP training/certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering or management from a reputed institute.

Responsibilities

• Support IT service project execution including EUC and hardware maintenance.
• Articulate supplier/vendor SOWs, SLAs, and penalties; assist with contracting.
• Budgeting, resource planning and risk identification across projects.
• Coordinate with global customers and stakeholders to ensure delivery.
• Monitor project progress and ensure delivery within scope, time and budget.
• Assist senior management with project tracking and resource utilization.

Job description

Job Purpose:

The Assistant Project Manager will support the successful execution of IT service projects, focusing on EUC, desktop support, hardware maintenance, and infrastructure services. This role involves assisting in project delivery, vendor management, resource planning, and risk identification throughout the project lifecycle. The Assistant Project Manager will ensure adherence to Prince2/PMP methodologies, assist with budgeting, and coordinate with global customers and stakeholders for seamless project execution. The role also involves supporting senior management in project tracking, resource utilization, and ensuring timely project delivery within scope and budget.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• In-depth understanding of various IT service models (majorly EUC and hardware maintenance) like desktop support services, break fix, IMAC, Disposal, Hardware AMC of servers, Networks, telephone, Window migrations etc.
• Expert of articulation of supplier/vendor/partners SOWs, SLA, Penalties.
• Well versed in contract negotiations and project delivery
• Well versed of desktop technologies and support models (like dedicated FTEs, Dispatch support, scheduled visits etc.)
• Well versed of server, network and telephony equipment to plan and calculate proper sparing for hardware maintenance. Dell/HP/Major OEMs certified prepared
• Accountability of project portfolios for area of scope/tracks assigned
• Global customer handling as centre point of contact till complete delivery of project including billing of all vendors vis--vis to customer.
• Identify critical project risks, and the overall resource utilization across the entire project life cycle. Support definition, sourcing, and placement of third-party resources as needed
• Ensure successful deployment of standard Project/ Program Management while executing the project
• Resource mapping in windows migration projects. Managing resource utilization during project planning
• Project Budgeting and profit analysis
• Ensure proper billing of partners/suppliers
• Ensure implementation of Prince 2/PMP process adherence during project executions
• Support implementation of Global Project Management Methodology across various tracks
• Identify and elevate critical project risk factors to key stakeholders through implementation and management of formal project risks
• Work with senior management and business leaders to support transition/ transformation/ BAU projects and overall strategic initiatives
• Review project portfolio and contents periodically and assess for linkage, support, and contribution to major goals and strategies
• Act as a liaison between senior management, functional owners, and interdependent function to oversee progress and facilitate successful closure of project activities on schedule and within budget at both strategic and functional levels

Skills & Abilities:

• Handling international customers skill is a must
• Leadership qualities and prompt in reporting
• Excellent in spoken English and presentable.
• Must be MS Excel and Power Point Expert: Excellent skills required.
• Open for Domestic/International travel. Ready Visa preferred
• Willing to work in high pressure environment and strengthen timelines

Professional Certifications:

Prince 2 Practitioner level must. PMP certified and trained preferred.

Education Qualification:

Bachelors degree in IT/ Engineering/MBA or other management qualification from reputed institutes.

Years of Experience:

At least 3 to 4 years of experience in Project Management

At least 1-2 years of experience in managing large and medium scale IT projects (services and production) with complete ownership and accountability
