Job summary

Actylis is seeking an Assistant Manager Procurement to drive sourcing for CDMO and Pharma Intermediates across India/APAC. The role focuses on tail spend, supplier qualification, and performance management to ensure cost efficiency, quality compliance, and timely delivery.

You will coordinate with global teams, support negotiations, and align sourcing strategies with R&D, Process Development, and Manufacturing requirements, enabling successful project execution.

Qualifications

• 5–6 years in global sourcing and procurement with leadership in sourcing and logistics across Indian and global markets.
• Experience in pharma intermediates or specialty chemicals supply chains.
• Strategic sourcing knowledge and implementation experience.
• Understanding of best global practices in industry supply chains.

Responsibilities

• Source chemical raw materials, intermediates, reagents, and consumables for CDMO projects.
• Identify, evaluate and onboard new tail-spend suppliers in India/APAC.
• Conduct supplier qualification and performance assessments with Quality/Tech teams.
• Consolidate tail spend to drive cost optimization and process improvements.
• Maintain a competitive Total Cost of Ownership for assigned categories.
• Respond to sourcing inquiries from global CDMO and Pharma Intermediates teams.
• Assist in commercial negotiations, supplier contracts, and logistics coordination.
• Collaborate with R&D, Process Development and Manufacturing on sourcing alignment.
• Monitor market trends and supply risks for chemical intermediates.
• Identify niche suppliers and new sources for competitive advantage.

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager Procurement will drive procurement activities for CDMO and Pharma Intermediates projects at Actylis, leveraging chemistry knowledge to source specialized raw materials and intermediates across the India/APAC/ROW region. The role focuses on managing tail spend (low-value, high-volume purchases) categories through supplier identification, qualification, and performance management, ensuring cost efficiency, quality compliance, and timely delivery. Key responsibilities include optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), coordinating with global teams, supporting negotiations, and ensuring effective supply chain execution for project needs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Support CDMO project procurement by sourcing chemical raw materials, intermediates, reagents, and consumables using chemistry knowledge.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers for tail spend and specialized chemical categories across the India/APAC region.
• Conduct supplier qualification and performance assessments in collaboration with Quality and Technical teams.
• Manage tail spend procurement through strategic consolidation, cost optimization, and process improvements.
• Establish and maintain a competitive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for assigned categories.
• Handle sourcing enquiries from global CDMO and Pharma Intermediates teams, ensuring timely and efficient responses.
• Support commercial negotiations, supplier contracts, and logistics coordination to ensure on-time project delivery.
• Collaborate with R&D, Process Development, and Manufacturing teams to align sourcing strategies with project and technical requirements.
• Monitor market trends, supply risks, and alternative sourcing opportunities related to chemical intermediates and CDMO operations.
• Continuously scan the India/APAC market to identify niche suppliers, new products, and alternative sources for competitive advantage.

Education

• BSC/MSC (Chemistry)/ BTech/MTech in Chemical Engineering or Graduate/Post-Graduate degree in Chemistry from reputed institutions
• MBA in Supply Chain or Marketing is advantage but not mandatory

Experience

• 5 to 6 years in global sourcing & procurement role, with experience leading sourcing and logistics operations across Indian & global markets
• Pharma intermediate and/or Specialty Chemicals industry and products supply chain experience
• Strategic Sourcing knowledge and implementation experience
• Understanding of the best global practices in the industry supply chain
