Job summary

Asahi India Glass Limited seeks an Assistant Manager- NMD to drive new model development aligned with customer expectations, feasibility, and budget planning. You will lead cross-functional teams to ensure timely readiness for mass production and compliance with QCDV targets.

You will coordinate feasibility inputs, finalize project plans, supervise tooling readiness, perform strict quality checks, and embed customer feedback into packaging and design before scale-up.

Qualifications

• APQP complete system and PPAP basics.
• CAD basic knowledge and problem analysis.
• Quality systems TS16949, TQM and ISO 14000.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate feasibility information collection and negotiate product specs with customers.
• Finalize project plans, tooling preparation, and monitor sample submissions.
• Conduct quality checks on new model parts and ensure adherence to quality systems.
• Identify new models for budgeting and monitor budgeting variances.
• Incorporate counter-measures before mass production and ensure design yield KPIs.

Job description

Assistant Manager- NMD

Manage new model development as per customer expectations and requirements post feasibility study, proper planning and execution. Ensure adherence to quality systems and standards, manage mass production and prepare effective budget. Ensure the Project KPIs QCDV.

Areas of Responsibility

• Ensure collection of required information for feasibility from customer as per requirement—ensure taking feedback on feasibility issues and timely closure of issues related to clarification required from customer—submit required inputs/clarification to customer and negotiate product specifications with customer—facilitate giving proposals for minimizing design—ensure the DR preparation on time and identify the A category issue.
• Finalize the project plan, ensure execution as per customer master plan and coordinate for preparation of tooling as per the process requirements with P&T; monitor the number of defaults in sample submission and ensure timely submission—review the customer‑specific requirements, analyse and explain requirements to P&T+ CFT for execution and monitoring; ensure on‑time response/communication to customer—interact with customer to facilitate consistent and effective understanding of new product specifications and getting approval upon product development—monitor the number of sample rejections and variance in the agreed and actual specifications—review packaging design as per the requirements of the product and customer and monitor the number of customer complaints & product damage in packing—ensure incorporation of customer feedback in the packaging proposals of new model packaging.
• Conduct quality checks on the produced parts for new models, find gaps (if any) in order to regulate product quality and ensure customer satisfaction—execute the quality system requirements as per the company objectives (system audits, TQM, TPM, etc.)—provide feedback to plant and P&T/CFT for incorporation of customer feedback about product quality and ensure adherence to the systems.
• Identify new models of customer and include them for budgeting; monitor variance between actual and planned new model budget—identify major tooling and fixtures for upcoming models for the respective customer.
• Ensure all the counter‑measures proposed are incorporated before start of mass production—ensure fitment feedback incorporated permanently—attend vehicle patrolling for ensuring quality confirmation and close monitoring of vehicle during initial control—ensure achievement of design yield and project KPIs during initial control and there are no open points during model transfer.

Qualifications

B.E/B.Tech with Mechanical.

APQP complete system, PPAP, basic knowledge of CAD, problem analysis, quality systems—TS16949, TQM practices, ISO 14000.
