DIAGEO India in Bengaluru hosts an Assistant Manager - Mechanical Maintenance role within its large-scale beverage manufacturing network. The role emphasizes achieving high equipment availability, leading maintenance excellence, and collaborating across production, quality, EHS, procurement and stores to sustain performance.

The incumbent will drive preventive and autonomous maintenance, manage spares, lead RCA, and support engineering projects while delivering cost reductions and improving OEE.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high equipment availability and minimum breakdown through effective maintenance practices.
  • Daily Shop-Floor Management: conduct daily maintenance reviews, monitor equipment performance and close critical concerns.
  • PM & AM: Drive Preventive Maintenance, Autonomous Maintenance and maintenance standards.
  • Bottling & Process Knowledge: strong understanding of bottling, blending, utilities and racking/material handling systems.
  • Breakdown & RCA: lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions for chronic issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: drive Kaizen, automation, mechanization and equipment improvement initiatives.
  • Projects: support engineering projects, machine modifications, installation and commissioning.
  • Mechanical Expertise: hands-on knowledge of mechanical assembly, pumps, valves, conveyors, pneumatics and equipment maintenance.
  • Vendor Development: develop local vendors for fabrication, spares, services and cost-effective in-house solutions.
  • PR/PO & Negotiation: manage maintenance requirements, vendor negotiation, technical evaluation and timely PR/PO closure.
  • SAP & Maintenance Systems: working knowledge of SAP PM, PM records, CIR/CTR/CDR and maintenance documentation.
  • Spare & Inventory Management: review critical spares, consumables, engineering inventory and ensure timely replenishment.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: use breakdown, downtime, PM, OEE, spare consumption and other data to prioritize actions.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: work closely with Production, Quality, EHS, Procurement, Stores and external vendors.
  • Cost & Performance Focus: drive reduction in downtime, maintenance cost and recurring failures while improving OEE and reliability.

About the Role
