Job summary

Adani Group in India is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Engineer to supervise erection and installation activities for boiler structures, ducting systems, and supports on thermal power project sites.

You will coordinate with engineering, planning, safety and contractor teams to ensure progress, quality and compliance with drawings and standards, while managing subcontractors and reporting progress.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mechanical construction activities on large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural drawings and construction standards.
• Safety-oriented approach with adherence to QA/QC procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise erection and installation of boiler structures, ducting systems, and supports.
• Lead mechanical erection activities including columns, beams, platforms, and access structures.
• Monitor ducting erection, welding, bolting, and fit-up per approved procedures.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, quality, safety, and contractor teams for smooth execution.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
• Track progress, report daily/weekly/monthly construction status to stakeholders.
• Manage contractor and subcontractor performance on site.
• Coordinate material availability and ensure timely utilization of supplied materials.
• Support inspection activities, NDT coordination, and punch point closure.
• Contribute to pre-commissioning and mechanical completion activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise erection and installation activities of Boiler Structures, Ducting Systems, and associated supports.
• Execute structural erection activities including columns, beams, platforms, galleries, bracings, stairways, and access structures.
• Monitor erection of Air Ducts, Flue Gas Ducts, ESP Ducts, APH Connecting Ducts, Expansion Joints, Dampers, and associated systems.
• Ensure compliance with construction drawings, technical specifications, erection methodologies, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, quality, safety, stores, and contractor teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure achievement of project schedules and milestones.
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors engaged in structural and ducting erection activities.
• Coordinate material availability and ensure timely utilization of supplied materials.
• Monitor fit-up, alignment, welding, bolting, and installation activities as per approved procedures.
• Support inspection activities, NDT coordination, quality audits, and punch point closure.
• Participate in pre-commissioning activities and ensure mechanical completion of assigned systems.
• Track project progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly construction reports.
• Ensure compliance with EHS requirements, permit systems, work-at-height procedures, and Adani safety standards.
• Identify construction bottlenecks and coordinate with stakeholders for timely resolution.
• Support project management in achieving cost, quality, safety, and schedule targets.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification

Mandatory

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred

• Diploma/Certification in Construction Management.
• Certification in Structural Erection, Welding Inspection, or QA/QC.

Experience Requirements (Must Have)

Mandatory Experience

• 5-8 years of experience in Mechanical Construction Projects.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Thermal Power Plant Projects.
• Hands-on experience in Boiler Structure Erection.
• Experience in Ducting Erection and Installation.
• Experience in project execution, construction supervision, and contractor management.
• Exposure to utility-scale power projects of 300 MW+ preferred.
• Experience in construction progress monitoring and reporting.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• B.E./B.Tech Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-8 years of Mechanical Construction experience.
• Thermal Power Project experience preferred.
• Mandatory exposure to Boiler Structure Erection.
• Mandatory exposure to Ducting Erection.
• Experience in handling contractors and site execution activities.
• Knowledge of structural drawings and construction standards.
• Strong safety awareness and quality orientation.
