Job summary

Adani Power is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance leader for boiler systems at a major power plant. You will drive preventive and predictive maintenance, oversee annual shutdowns and capital repairs, and ensure high equipment reliability and safety.

The role requires 15–20 years in mechanical maintenance with 6–8 years in boiler maintenance, including SAP PM proficiency, contractor management, and a track record of improving plant performance.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience in Boiler maintenance of thermal power plants (6–8 years).
• Experience with large utility units (300 MW+ preferred).
• Hands-on with Supercritical/Subcritical boilers.
• Experience in major shutdowns and overhauls.
• Knowledge of boiler pressure parts and auxiliaries.
• Experience in SAP PM-based maintenance management.
• Contractor and manpower management exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive, predictive, breakdown, and condition-based maintenance of boiler systems and auxiliaries.
• Ensure high reliability and availability of boiler equipment.
• Plan and execute annual overhauls, capital repairs, and shutdown activities.
• Monitor boiler performance and drive reliability/ efficiency improvements.
• Drive RCA and implement corrective actions.
• Implement RCM, TPM, vibration monitoring, and thermography practices.
• Coordinate with Operations, C&I, Electrical, CHP, Ash Handling, and Engineering teams.
• Review maintenance schedules, manpower deployment, and contractor productivity.
• Monitor spares inventory and material availability during maintenance.
• Ensure safety standards, PTW systems, and Adani safety protocols.
• Supervise contractors, service providers, OEM reps, and maintenance teams.
• Promote digital maintenance via SAP PM and analytics.
• Identify cost optimization without compromising safety or reliability.
• Develop maintenance team capabilities through training and coaching.
• Support plant KPIs for PLF, availability, and heat rate.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive, predictive, breakdown, and condition-based maintenance activities of Boiler systems and auxiliaries.
• Ensure high reliability and availability of Boiler equipment including Pressure Parts, APH, ESP, PA Fans, FD Fans, ID Fans, Soot Blowers, Dampers, Ducting, Expansion Joints, Coal Piping, and associated systems.
• Plan and execute annual overhauls, capital repairs, shutdown activities, and major maintenance projects within approved timelines and budgets.
• Monitor Boiler performance parameters and identify opportunities for reliability improvement, efficiency enhancement, and equipment life extension.
• Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of recurring failures and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure effective implementation of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), TPM initiatives, vibration monitoring, thermography, and condition monitoring practices.
• Coordinate closely with Operations, C&I, Electrical, CHP, Ash Handling, and Engineering teams to ensure seamless unit operation.
• Review and optimize maintenance schedules, manpower deployment, spare management, and contractor productivity.
• Monitor inventory levels of critical spares and ensure availability of essential materials during planned and emergency maintenance activities.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, PTW systems, statutory regulations, and Adani safety protocols during all maintenance activities.
• Manage and supervise contractors, service providers, OEM representatives, and maintenance teams to achieve project and maintenance objectives.
• Drive digital maintenance practices through SAP PM, maintenance analytics, failure tracking systems, and performance dashboards.
• Identify and implement cost optimization initiatives without compromising safety, quality, and equipment reliability.
• Develop maintenance team capabilities through training, coaching, technical guidance, and succession planning.
• Support management in achieving plant KPIs related to PLF, equipment availability, forced outage reduction, heat rate improvement, and maintenance budget adherence.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification

Mandatory

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

Preferred

• M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• MBA (Operations) or equivalent management qualification.

Experience Requirements

• 15 -20 years of relevant Mechanical Maintenance experience.
• Minimum 6-8 years specifically in Boiler Maintenance of Thermal Power Plants.
• Experience in large utility power units (300 MW and above preferred).
• Hands-on exposure to Supercritical and Subcritical Boilers.
• Experience in planning and executing major shutdowns and annual overhauls.
• Knowledge of Boiler pressure parts, APH, ESP, Fans, Pneumatic Systems, and associated auxiliaries.
• Experience in SAP PM-based maintenance management.
• Exposure to contractor and manpower management.
