Job summary

Adani Power in India seeks a senior Mechanical Construction Lead to drive erection, commissioning and performance testing of boiler, turbine, BOP and related systems. The role requires coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to meet project milestones on a large Thermal Power Plant EPC project.

The ideal candidate has 7–12 years of experience in mechanical construction, with hands-on site leadership, scheduling, QA/QC, and a strong focus on safety and compliance with PTW, HIRA and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is preferred; PG in Project/Construction Management is a plus.
• 7-12 years of experience in mechanical construction of thermal power plants, EPC projects or heavy industries.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical construction activities per project schedule for boilers, turbines, BOP, CHP, AHP, CW systems, WTP and related plant equipment.
• Monitor erection/installation to ensure compliance with drawings, specs, quality plans and standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Safety, Commissioning and PM teams for smooth execution.

Job description

• Execute mechanical construction activities related to Boiler, Turbine, BOP, CHP, AHP, CW System, WTP, and associated plant equipment as per project schedule.
• Monitor erection and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality plans, and engineering standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Safety, Commissioning, and Project Management teams for smooth project execution.
• Ensure timely mobilization of resources, manpower, construction equipment, and materials required for project execution.
• Review construction schedules and monitor progress against project milestones, identifying and resolving execution bottlenecks.
• Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and vendor personnel to ensure productivity, quality, and safety compliance.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor erection quality, alignment, welding activities, equipment preservation, and installation standards.
• Monitor execution of Boiler pressure parts, structural erection, piping systems, rotating equipment, and mechanical auxiliaries.
• Support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance trial activities of mechanical systems.
• Verify contractor bills, work measurements, progress reports, and project documentation.
• Ensure adherence to statutory regulations, project quality requirements, environmental standards, and Adani safety guidelines.
• Participate in technical discussions with OEMs, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders for issue resolution.
• Identify and implement productivity improvement and cost optimization initiatives at construction sites.
• Maintain project documentation, progress reports, punch-point closures, and construction records.
• Drive a strong safety culture by ensuring strict compliance with PTW systems, HIRA, risk assessments, and safe work practices.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification

Mandatory

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

Preferred

• M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Post Graduate Qualification in Project Management or Construction Management.
• Experience Requirements
  • 7-12 years of experience in Mechanical Construction of Thermal Power Plants, EPC Projects, or Heavy Industrial Projects.
  • Experience in erection and commissioning of Boiler, Turbine, and Balance of Plant systems.
  • Exposure to large-scale Thermal Power Projects with unit sizes of 300 MW and above preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience in project execution, site coordination, contractor management, and commissioning support.
  • Knowledge of construction planning, progress monitoring, quality control, and project documentation.
