Job summary

Adani Group is seeking a senior mechanical construction professional for thermal power plant EPC projects. The role involves leading erection, commissioning support, and coordination with engineering, procurement, safety, and project management teams on major 300 MW-scale units.

The candidate should have 7–12 years of hands-on experience in mechanical construction, with a strong focus on erection and commissioning of Boiler, Turbine, and Balance of Plant systems, and a proven ability to drive

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and PG qualification in Project/Construction Management preferred.
• 7–12 years of Mechanical Construction experience in Thermal Power Plants, EPC Projects, or Heavy Industrial Projects.
• Experience in erection and commissioning of Boiler, Turbine, and Balance of Plant systems.
• Exposure to large-scale Thermal Power Projects with unit sizes of 300 MW and above preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical construction activities for Boiler, Turbine, BOP, CHP, and related plant equipment per schedule.
• Monitor erection and installation for compliance with drawings, specs, and standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Safety, Commissioning, and PM teams.
• Ensure timely mobilization of resources, equipment, and materials.
• Review schedules and track progress against milestones; resolve bottlenecks.
• Supervise contractors and vendor personnel to ensure productivity and safety.
• Conduct site inspections for erection quality, alignment, welding, and installation standards.
• Support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance trials.
• Verify contractor bills and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, quality requirements, environmental standards, and Adani guidelines.
• Participate in technical discussions with OEMs, consultants, contractors.
• Identify productivity improvements and cost optimization on sites.
• Maintain project documentation and progress reports.
• Drive safety culture with PTW, HIRA, risk assessments, safe practices.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical construction activities related to Boiler, Turbine, BOP, CHP, AHP, CW System, WTP, and associated plant equipment as per project schedule.
• Monitor erection and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality plans, and engineering standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Safety, Commissioning, and Project Management teams for smooth project execution.
• Ensure timely mobilization of resources, manpower, construction equipment, and materials required for project execution.
• Review construction schedules and monitor progress against project milestones, identifying and resolving execution bottlenecks.
• Supervise contractors, subcontractors, and vendor personnel to ensure productivity, quality, and safety compliance.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor erection quality, alignment, welding activities, equipment preservation, and installation standards.
• Monitor execution of Boiler pressure parts, structural erection, piping systems, rotating equipment, and mechanical auxiliaries.
• Support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance trial activities of mechanical systems.
• Verify contractor bills, work measurements, progress reports, and project documentation.
• Ensure adherence to statutory regulations, project quality requirements, environmental standards, and Adani safety guidelines.
• Participate in technical discussions with OEMs, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders for issue resolution.
• Identify and implement productivity improvement and cost optimization initiatives at construction sites.
• Maintain project documentation, progress reports, punch-point closures, and construction records.
• Drive a strong safety culture by ensuring strict compliance with PTW systems, HIRA, risk assessments, and safe work practices.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification

Mandatory

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

Preferred

• M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Post Graduate Qualification in Project Management or Construction Management.
  

Experience Requirements
