Job summary

Career Management Services seeks an experienced Assistant Manager Instrumentation to oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and reliability of instrumentation and control systems in a continuous process chemical plant.

You will ensure safe, uninterrupted operations, support projects, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while coordinating with process and electrical teams, OEMs, and vendors.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering.
• 7–8 years of relevant experience in chemical/continuous process plants.
• Experience in hazardous process environments preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, safety and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth functioning and preventive maintenance of all field instrumentation and control systems.
• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation-related issues to minimize plant downtime.
• Maintain and calibrate transmitters, pressure gauges, flow meters, level instruments, temperature sensors, control valves, analyzers, and weighing systems.
• Handle PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI systems in coordination with process and electrical teams.
• Monitor instrumentation health and improve system reliability through RCA (Root Cause Analysis).
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, GMP (where applicable), and statutory regulations.
• Coordinate annual shutdown activities related to instrumentation systems.
• Manage calibration schedules and maintain calibration records.
• Supervise contractors and ensure quality execution of instrumentation jobs.
• Maintain inventory and spare parts planning for critical instruments.
• Prepare maintenance reports, equipment history, and MIS documentation.
• Participate in commissioning, plant expansion, and automation projects.
• Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for troubleshooting and technical support.
• Ensure adherence to EHS standards and permit-to-work systems.

Qualification

• Experience in handling instrumentation maintenance in hazardous process environments is preferred.
