Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is looking for a Fire & Safety professional in Chennai to conduct risk assessments, develop emergency plans, and support site managers on all fire safety matters. You will oversee maintenance of firefighting systems, conduct audits, and lead drills to ensure regulatory compliance and readiness.

The role involves coordinating with building teams, planning training for fire staff, and reporting on safety issues. Experience in a corporate Fire & Safety environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in conducting fire and safety risk assessments.
• Ability to develop emergency plans for buildings.
• Provide guidance to site managers on fire safety matters.
• Knowledge of maintenance of firefighting equipment and alarm systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Fire & Safety risk assessments and ensure control measures and monitoring.
• Develop emergency plans and procedures for various contingencies.
• Provide technical guidance to Building / Site Managers on Fire & Safety matters.
• Advise on maintenance of firefighting equipment and fire alarm systems.
• Plan and develop competency programs for Fire Officers and wardens.
• Carry out audits on fire & safety issues and render reports.
• Ensure periodic mock drills are conducted as scheduled.
• Participate in incident/accident investigations.
• Keep management updated on regulations.
• Provide guidance during site visits to implement Fire & Safety Management system.
• Ensure deployment of manpower as per deployment sheet.
• Ensure trainings for fire staff attend as per schedule.
• Any other tasks assigned by the management.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct Fire & Safety Risk assessment and ensure implementation of control measures and periodical monitoring.


• Development of emergency plans and procedures considering various contingencies which can occur in the buildings.


• Provide technical guidance and support on all Fire & Safety matters to the Building / Site Managers.


• Provide advice on maintenance of all firefighting equipment, fire alarm systems, Fire extinguishing systems, fire hydrant systems etc.


• Planning and developing various competency development programs for Fire Officers, Emergency Response Team members & Floor Wardens.


• Carry out audits with reference to all fire & safety issues such as fire prevention / protective measures, emergency exercises etc. and render reports.


• Ensure that periodic mock drills are conducted as per schedule.


• Participating in incident / accident investigations.


• Keeping Management posted of latest regulations.


• Provide necessary advice to the BM/Engineers / Supervisors & Other department Managers during site visits.


• To provide guidance to the building team for implementation of Fire & Safety Management system.


• Ensure deployment of manpower (fire staff) for each as per the approved deployment sheet.


• Ensure all fire & safety personnel attending the trainings as per TNI


• Any other tasks assigned by the management.
