Roles and Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor fire safety policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Conduct regular fire safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Ensure proper installation, maintenance, and functioning of fire safety equipment (extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, sprinklers, etc.).
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and evacuation procedures.
- Conduct fire drills and safety training programs for employees.
- Identify potential fire hazards and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure compliance with local fire safety regulations and statutory requirements.
- Maintain records and documentation related to fire safety inspections and compliance.
- Coordinate with external authorities such as fire departments and safety agencies.
- Investigate fire incidents, near-misses, and hazards and perform root cause analysis.
- Ensure availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor contractor and visitor safety compliance within the premises.
- Support EHS initiatives and collaborate with Safety, Health, and Environment teams.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of flammable and hazardous materials.
- Maintain fire safety systems and ensure periodic testing and servicing.
- Participate in internal and external audits and ensure audit readiness.
- Provide recommendations to improve fire safety systems and infrastructure.
- Ensure clear marking of emergency exits, fire points, and safety signage.
- Train employees on fire prevention, equipment usage, and emergency handling.
- Monitor workplace conditions to ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Prepare reports and dashboards on fire safety performance for management.
- Stay updated with fire safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Maintain discipline, vigilance, and quick response in emergency situations.
- Ensure coordination with different departments for safety compliance.
- Contribute to building a safe and secure work environment.
