Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
  • 58 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing, chemical, fertilizer, cement, or process industry.
  • Experience with HT/LT systems, motors, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, DG sets, and electrical distribution systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Ensure maximum availability of plant electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain HT/LT systems, transformers, switchgears, MCCs, PCCs, VFDs, motors, DG sets, and UPS systems.
  • Provide electrical support to production for uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Coordinate shutdown maintenance activities.
  • Monitor electrical load, power quality, and equipment performance.
  • Improve equipment reliability through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise installation, commissioning, and testing of new electrical equipment.
  • Review electrical drawings, SLDs, and cable layouts.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and vendors during project execution.
  • Support plant expansion and CAPEX projects.
  • Monitor power consumption and identify energy-saving opportunities.
  • Improve power factor and optimize electrical efficiency.
  • Analyze electricity consumption and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Ensure compliance with Electricity Act, Factory Act, and electrical safety standards.
  • Implement LOTO procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to PPE, PTW, and company safety policies.
  • Participate in safety audits and statutory inspections.
  • Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and breakdown reports.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance MIS.
  • Develop SOPs and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain statutory electrical records and test certificates.
  • Supervise electricians, technicians, and contractors.
  • Allocate work and monitor completion.
  • Conduct technical and safety training for the maintenance team.
  • Promote TPM, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Production, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Purchase, Stores, and Quality departments.
  • Assist in spare planning and procurement.
  • Support vendor development and technical evaluations.

4. Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance
