Job summary

Lotus Technicals Pvt. Ltd. in Thane, Maharashtra seeks an experienced electrical design engineer for industrial projects.

You will handle conceptual to detailed engineering, prepare SLDs, and size electrical equipment including transformers, DG sets, and panels. Responsibilities include cable schedules, lighting calculations, DIALux, and control panel designs. The role requires strong knowledge of electrical calculations, equipment sizing, and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• To work on conceptual design, basic design, and detailed engineering of industrial projects in electricals and instrumentation.
• To work on power load calculations based on equipment loads related to HVAC, process, utility equipment, lighting, etc.
• To prepare basic electrical schemes from transformer to point of use and represent as a Single Line Diagram (SLD).
• To perform equipment sizing and selection related to electrical systems based on load sheets and SLDs, including transformer sizing, DG set sizing, busbar sizing, and panel sizing.
• To prepare detailed control and power panel SLDs as per client and PMO agreements.
• To prepare cable schedules and determine switchgear ratings based on voltage drop calculations.
• To perform lighting calculations based on lux levels and environment requirements.
• To work on DIALux software.
• To design lightning arrestor and earthing layouts, including routing, grids, and pits.
• To size cable trays based on routing and loads.
• To work on instrumentation systems related to SCADA, BMS, and operation of utilities and HVAC systems.
• To organize BOQ with backup costing and quotations from vendors for all components.
• To prepare technical specifications and data sheets for electrical components and equipment.
• To check and approve Remote Control Panel locations and light switch layouts on layouts.
• To complete all technical documentation for procurement, delivery, and installation, coordinating with vendors.
• To coordinate with PMD on site issues and provide timely technical solutions with documentation.
• To maintain timelines as per schedules from PMD and client.

Job description

• 1. To work on conceptual design, basic design, and detailedengineering of industrial projects in electricals and instrumentation.
• 2. To work on power load calculations based onequipment loads related to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC),process equipment, utility equipment, lighting, etc.
• 3. To work on basic electrical schemes starting with thetransformer up to the point of use and represent the same in a Single LineDiagram (SLD).
• 4. To perform equipment sizing and selection relatedto electrical systems based on load sheets and SLDs, including transformersizing, Diesel Generator (DG) set sizing, busbar sizing, and panel sizing.
• 5. To prepare detailed control and power panel SLDs asper schemes agreed upon with the client and Project Management Department.
• 6. To prepare cable schedules and determine switchgearratings based on voltage drop calculations.
• 7. To perform lighting calculations based on luxlevels and working environment requirements.
• 8. To work on DIALux software.
• 9. To work on lightning arrestor design and earthingdesign, including routing, grids, and pits.
• 10. To work on cable tray sizing based on cable routingand cable loads.
• 11. To work on instrumentation systems related to SupervisoryControl and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Building Management System (BMS),operation of utilities, and HVAC systems.
• 12. To organise the Bill of Quantity (BOQ) along with properbackup costing and quotations from vendors for all components.
• 13. To prepare technical specifications and data sheetsfor all electrical components and equipment typically used in industrialprojects.
• 14. To check and approve Remote Control Panel (RCP),switch socket locations, and light switch locations on layouts.
• 15. To complete all technical documentation needed for procurement,delivery, and installation of components at the site, like design data, technicalspecifications, design qualification, construction drawings, typical drawings, etc.,involving vendor coordination.
• 16. To coordinate with the Project ManagementDepartment on various site-related issues, troubleshoot them, and provide technicalsolutions within reasonable timelines along with proper documentation.
• 17. To maintain timelines for work allotted as perschedules set by Project Management Department and the client.

• 4. Deep understanding of low and medium voltage(LV/MV) systems and load calculations.
• 5. Good knowledge of safety codes and regulatorystandards.
• 6. Understanding of industrial project execution,coordination, and site installation practices.

PreferredKnowledge:

• 1. Preferably visited project sites at differentstages for monitoring project progress.
• 2. Preferably worked on pharmaceutical engineeringprojects.
