Job summary

Kumar Organic Products is seeking an EHS professional to develop and implement comprehensive EHS systems at our Hassan, Karnataka site. You will conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and ensure strict compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

You will also train staff, investigate incidents, manage hazardous waste, and coordinate with authorities and auditors to maintain a strong safety culture across operations. This role is based on-site in Hassan.

Qualifications

• Develop and maintain EHS management systems and programs per national and international standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard identifications, and safety audits to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with EHS legal requirements, permits, and licenses.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees to promote safety culture.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and illnesses to determine root causes and preventive measures.
• Manage hazardous waste, chemical handling, storage, and disposal responsibly.
• Oversee emergency preparedness and response plans including fire safety and disaster management.
• Maintain accurate EHS records and prepare reports for management and regulators.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, external auditors, and stakeholders on EHS matters.

Role & responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS management systems and programs in accordance with national and international standards and regulations (e.g., Factories Act, Environment Protection Act, Hazardous Waste Management Rules, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits to identify potential risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS legal requirements, permits, and licenses.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels to promote a strong safety culture.
• Investigate all incidents, accidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses, determining root causes and implementing effective preventative measures.
• Manage hazardous waste, chemical handling, storage, and disposal in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Oversee the implementation of emergency preparedness and response plans, including fire safety and disaster management.
• Maintain accurate EHS records and prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, external auditors, and other stakeholders on EHS matters.
