Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Pune, MH, is seeking an EHS Compliance and Risk professional to ensure adherence to Indian EHS laws and drive safety initiatives across the site.

You will manage regulatory filings, permits, and licenses, lead risk assessments and incident investigations, and coordinate training and vendor onboarding to promote a safe working environment.

The role also enforces PTW, oversees waste management, and advances ISO 14001/45001 standards within the facility.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing EHS compliance per Indian laws (Factories Act, Fire safety, Water & Air Acts).
• Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Ability to lead incident investigations and CAPA tracking.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Indian EHS laws including permits, licenses, and renewals (NOC/CTO).
• Lead Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA) and incident investigations with ROOT CAUSE analysis and CAPA tracking.
• Rigorously enforce Permit to Work (PTW) for high-risk activities and supervise waste management (bio-medical, hazardous, plastic, e-waste).
• Perform regular audits and inspections of MEP zones, building facades and common areas.
• Deliver safety campaigns, toolbox talks, and vendor safety onboarding to strengthen culture and training.
• Enforce Permit to Work (PTW) for high-risk activities and manage hazardous waste proper disposal.
• Supervise waste management for bio-medical, hazardous, plastic, and e-waste per guidelines.
• Perform weekly/monthly safety audits of MEP zones, facades and common areas.
• Facilitate safety training, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns; assess vendor EHS capabilities and PPE use.

Compliance & Statutory Approvals

• Regulatory Liaison: Ensure comprehensive compliance with Indian EHS legislations, including the Factories Act, State Fire Safety Rules, Water & Air Acts, and Public Liability Insurance Act.
• Permits & Licenses: Oversee the timely renewal of Fire No-Objection Certificates (NOC), Consent to Operate (CTO) from the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB), and lift licenses.
• ISO Standards: Maintain and audit Management Systems in accordance with ISO 14001 (EMS) and ISO 45001 (OHSMS) standards.

Risk Management & Incident Response

• Hazard Identification: Conduct systematic Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA) and Environmental Aspect-Impact analyses.
• Incident Investigation: Lead comprehensive investigations for all near-misses, injuries, or property damage incidents. Root-cause analysis (RCA) must be executed alongside corrective and preventive action (CAPA) tracking.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop, update, and implement emergency evacuation plans while conducting quarterly fire drills in coordination with local authorities and tenants.

Operations & Vendor Management

• Permit to Work (PTW): Rigorously enforce the PTW system for high-risk activities including height work, electrical interventions, and confined space entry.
• Waste Management: Supervise the proper segregation, storage, and authorized disposal of bio-medical, hazardous, plastic, and e-waste in accordance with Indian regulatory guidelines.
• Audits & Inspections: Execute weekly and monthly safety assessments of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) zones, building facades, and common areas.

Training & Culture

• Safety Campaigns: Facilitate regular safety training programs, Tool Box Talks (TBT), and national safety week campaigns to enhance engagement.
• Vendor Onboarding: Assess EHS capabilities of third-party vendors and ensure their personnel utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
