Role Overview

Seeking a proactive and organized Assistant Manager for Collective Operations to oversee and enhance the operational and logistical functions of our estate. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless material sourcing, efficient inventory management, labor coordination, and sustainable input planning. The ideal candidate needs to bring experience in farm or estate operations, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight & Execution

• Implement short-term operational plans as directed by senior management.
  
• Oversee daily estate activities to ensure efficiency and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  

Resource Management

• Supervise staff, manage shift schedules, and monitor performance.
  
• Support recruitment, training, and conflict resolution for the estate workforce.
  

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in developing and monitoring estate budgets, including operational and capital expenditures.
  
• Contribute to yield estimation, cost analysis, and financial forecasting to support strategic planning.
  

Vendor Management

• Source, evaluate, and onboard vendors and service providers.
  
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure performance aligns with estate needs.
  

Maintenance & Infrastructure

• Coordinate routine and emergency maintenance of estate facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
  
• Ensure maintenance activities are timely, safe, and cost-effective.
  

Sourcing of Materials & Farm Inputs

• Procure agricultural inputs (e.g. saplings, seeds, tools) in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  
• Verify quality and compliance of sourced materials with operational standards.
  

Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate records of input stocks and materials.
  
• Update inventory systems regularly and conduct periodic stock verifications to ensure optimal stock levels.
  

Labor Management

• Arrange field workers based on seasonal and operational requirements.
  
• Collaborate with supervisors to secure adequate manpower during critical periods (e.g., planting, harvesting).
  

Farm Input Planning for Self-Sufficiency

• Develop strategies to minimize reliance on external inputs through practices like composting, seed saving, and organic inputs.
