Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking an experienced maintenance leader for the BIW shop. You will plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance across robotic welding cells, conveyors, and automation systems to maximize equipment availability.

You will diagnose failures, drive root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions while mentoring technicians and ensuring safety and compliance. The role emphasizes TPM, Kaizen, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in automotive maintenance and plant operations.
• Degree or Diploma in engineering or equivalent technical field.
• Experience leading maintenance teams and coordinating across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance for BIW equipment and automation systems.
• Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor machine performance and drive TPM/Kaizen initiatives to improve OEE.
• Ensure safety standards and LOTO procedures are followed in all maintenance activities.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with procurement to prevent disruptions.
• Lead technicians and provide technical support for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and robotics systems.

Job description

• Ensure Preventive and Predictive Maintenance: Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance activities for BIW equipment such as robotic welding cells, spot welding guns, conveyors, fixtures, and automation systems to maximize equipment availability.
• Breakdown Maintenance Management: Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and restore production operations quickly.
• Equipment Reliability Improvement: Monitor machine performance, analyze maintenance data, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, productivity, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Safety and Compliance Management: Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, statutory requirements, and company EHS guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Spare Parts and Inventory Control: Manage critical spare parts inventory, coordinate with procurement teams, and ensure the availability of maintenance materials to prevent production disruptions.
• Team Coordination and Technical Support: Lead and guide technicians, contractors, and maintenance personnel while providing technical support for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and robotic systems in the BIW shop.
• Documentation and Continuous Improvement: Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, breakdown reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), while driving TPM, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing initiatives for operational excellence.
