Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. is seeking an experienced maintenance engineer to lead preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance for BIW equipment including welding cells, conveyors, and fixtures.

The role focuses on reducing downtime, improving OEE, and driving continuous improvement with TPM and lean initiatives. You will supervise technicians and support teams while ensuring safety guidelines and LOTO compliance are strictly followed.

Qualifications

BE in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with strong domain knowledge.
5-7 Yrs. / 8-11 yrs of experience in automotive/ manufacturing environments.
Exposure to TPM/Kaizen and lean initiatives is preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance for BIW equipment to maximize availability.
Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Monitor machine performance and drive continuous improvement for OEE and reliability.
Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards and LOTO procedures.
Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with procurement to avoid disruptions.
Lead technicians and contractors, providing technical support across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and robotics systems.
Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and SOPs; drive TPM/Kaizen initiatives.

Ensure Preventive and Predictive Maintenance: Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance activities for BIW equipment such as robotic welding cells, spot welding guns, conveyors, fixtures, and automation systems to maximize equipment availability.
Breakdown Maintenance Management: Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and restore production operations quickly.
Equipment Reliability Improvement: Monitor machine performance, analyze maintenance data, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, productivity, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Safety and Compliance Management: Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, statutory requirements, and company EHS guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Spare Parts and Inventory Control: Manage critical spare parts inventory, coordinate with procurement teams, and ensure the availability of maintenance materials to prevent production disruptions.
Team Coordination and Technical Support: Lead and guide technicians, contractors, and maintenance personnel while providing technical support for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and robotic systems in the BIW shop.
Documentation and Continuous Improvement: Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, breakdown reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), while driving TPM, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing initiatives for operational excellence.
