Job summary

Pilgrim in Mumbai seeks a finance professional to manage core accounting operations, audits and compliance under Ind AS/IGAAP.

You will lead GST and TDS processes, income tax basics, ROC filings, and strengthen internal controls while overseeing month-end closures and financial statements.

The role requires strong Excel and Power BI skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Ind AS / IGAAP; GST and TDS compliance required.
• Knowledge of income tax, corporate tax basics; ROC filings and Companies Act.
• Experience with IFC and internal/statutory audit management.
• Balance sheet scrutiny, reconciliations, fixed assets and inventory accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills; Power BI knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead statutory, internal, tax, GST and department audits end to end.
• Prepare schedules; coordinate with auditors; close observations.
• Drive corrective actions to ensure zero repeat observations.
• Independently manage Accounts Payable/Receivable, Treasury and Banking.
• Drive month-end and year-end closure; finalize financial statements.

Job description

• Own GST (returns, reconciliations, e-invoicing, e-way bills, assessments and notices).
• Manage TDS deduction, returns, reconciliations and notices.
• Handle Income Tax, ROC and Companies Act filings; finance-related labour law compliances, MSME reporting and FEMA (where applicable).

Audit Management

• Lead Statutory, Internal, IFC Testing, Tax, GST and Departmental audits end to end.
• Prepare schedules, coordinate with auditors and close observations.
• Drive corrective action plans and ensure zero repeat observations.

Internal Controls & Risk

• Strengthen financial controls and implement SOPs and process improvements.
• Identify risks, support fraud prevention and monitor compliance on an ongoing basis.

Core Accounting Operations

• Independently manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and Banking.
• Handle inventory and fixed asset accounting.
• Drive month-end and year-end closure, GL review and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Prepare and finalize financial statements.

Skills Requirements:

Technical

• Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards (Ind AS / IGAAP)
• Hands-on GST and TDS compliance, including notices and assessments
• Income Tax and Corporate Tax basics; working knowledge of Companies Act & ROC
• Internal Financial Controls (IFC), internal and statutory audit management
• Balance sheet scrutiny, reconciliations, fixed asset and inventory accounting
• Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookups); Power BI preferred
