Job summary

ZF is seeking an Assistant Manager - Buyer (m/f/d) in Chennai, India. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier cost management within electronics/electromechanical parts.

You will drive VAVE/CRP initiatives and negotiate with key suppliers to achieve targeted savings. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's in Electrical & Electronics, strong negotiation skills, ERP knowledge (SAP/Oracle), and proficient Excel reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical & electronics engineering with experience in handling electronics/electromechanical parts sourcing, development, supply chain, value management.
• Experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Implementation of Sourcing & Purchasing VAVE/CRP projects to attain YoY target savings of 3% from yearly spend value.
• Future projects pipeline creation by handling localization, re-sourcing, VAVE-CRP projects, Nego projects, SOB change projects from high to low cost suppliers.
• SWAT case creation and approval for new business, source change, second source introduction and process change.
• Ensure QCD with all suppliers to support sales & marketing team.
• Handling all commercial workings, increase and decrease approvals, Part & Tooling PO amendment.
• Capacity management with key suppliers, machine hour rate and process cost calculation for price negotiation.
• Developing cost estimates & projections for commodities like stamping, forging, casting, sintering, plastics, rubber parts, springs, motors, and standard parts.
• Costing, VAVE, supplier cost audit, supplier process optimization, moderation of DtC, CRP and VAVE workshops.

• Future projects pipeline creation by handling Localization, Re-sourcing, VAVE-CRP projects, Nego projects, SOB change projects from High to Low cost suppliers, Proximity analysis to reduce transport costs & Direct buy projects.
• SWAT case creation and approval for new business, source change, second source introduction and process change etc.
• Ensure QCD with all suppliers to support sales & marketing team.
• Handling all commercial workings, increase and decrease approvals, Part & Tooling PO amendment.
• Capacity management with key suppliers, Machine hour rate and process cost calculation for price negotiation with suppliers.
• Developing cost estimates & projections for commodities like Stamping, Forging, Casting (PDC/GDC/Ferrous), Sintering, Plastic Injection/Compression molding, Rubber parts, Springs, Motors, Fabrication & Standard parts.
• Costing, VAVE, Supplier cost audit, Supplier process optimization, moderation of DtC, CRP and VAVE workshops.

Your Profile as Assistant Manager - Buyer (m/f/d):

• Bachelor's degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering with experience in Handling Electronics /Electromechanical parts sourcing, development, Supply chain, Value Management
• Experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations
