Job summary

Eimco Elecon India Limited is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Commodity Buyer to manage procurement of Mechanical commodities. The role involves New Product Development, Vendor Selection, and Strategic Sourcing to ensure smooth manufacturing and cost optimization.

Responsibilities include supplier evaluation, PO processing, shipment tracking, and compliance with import regulations. Strong negotiation skills and ERP experience preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify strategic suppliers and develop mechanical commodity parts from import & local suppliers.
• Request quotations, compare prices, negotiate terms.
• Conduct supplier evaluation based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
• Maintain long-term supplier relationships and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Raise POs and coordinate with planning for demand fulfillment.
• Track shipments and manage import documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Drive annual cost-saving initiatives and manage inventory levels.

Job description

Eimco Elecon is looking for an experienced Strategic Sourcing Commodity Buyer to manage procurement of Mechanical commodities. These includes including Axles, Gears, Motors, Transmissions, Pumps, and Engines.

The role involves major activities like New Product Development, Vendor Selection, Strategic Sourcing, RM Settlement to ensure smooth manufacturing process to meet business objectives.

Major Roles & Responsibilities:-

• Identify strategic suppliers and develop Mechanical Commodity parts from Import & local suppliers (Engine, Driveline, Axles, Transmission, Pumps, Valves, Hyd. Cylinders)
• Request quotations, compare prices, negotiate commercial terms.
• Conduct supplier evaluation based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
• Maintain long-term supplier relationships
• Compliance with company policies.
• Raise Purchase Orders (POs) as per demand and planning requirements.
• Follow up with suppliers for order confirmation and shipment schedules.
• Ensure on-time availability of imported parts
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHA, transporters, and customs agents.
• Track shipments from supplier dispatch to warehouse delivery.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, Incoterms (FOB, CIF, EXW, DDP etc.)
• Analyze landed cost including freight, duty, GST, customs charges.
• Drive annual cost-saving initiatives.
• Work with planning/store teams to avoid stock-outs.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels for imported parts.
• Monitor slow-moving / excess stock.
• Ensure compliance with import regulations, DGFT, customs norms.
• Maintain procurement records, contracts, and supplier agreements.
• Support audits and ISO documentation.
• Handle shipping documents: Commercial Invoice , Packing List , Bill of Lading / AWB, Insurance, Import License (if applicable)
• Import parts localisation.
